I'm very happy with my clothes even though I don't look happy in my pictures. I'm still tired and recovering from my surgery and I had no time for make-up in the morning. YLF must think I never smile but I really do. I just can't take a picture with a cell phone and smile at the same time. It's much too complicated for me!
I was happy with this outfit, it worked all day. I was running around a school building, in and out of classes, dodging unruly kids with their occasional trailing staff member. Ducking flying objects as they were hurled across the rooms. All was perfect until 7:30 pm. DH and I were taking a shortcut by walking in the semi dark across a park used for skateboarding towards the Local Civic Center for another Friend's of the Library Author Talk. One of the Skateboarders went flying off his skateboard and did a hard back flop onto the concrete. He wasn't wearing a shirt or helmet. The physician in me went into medical alert mode. I took a quick step forward towards him to make sure he was okay. I didn't see a step and KABOOM! I rolled my foot/ankle inwards. OUCH! Guess who was the most injured?! Okay, lesson learned, teenage boys are unbreakable. A few scrapes and maybe some minor road rash, but he claimed no pain. I hobbled the rest of the way to the Civic Center as he continued his jumping. Wish I was 20 again!
These shoes do not protect from rolled ankles! Boo Hiss! My left foot is swollen today. I don't think I broke anything but now my plans for dressing starting with my feet are over for a while. It looks like a good Birkenstock day. May even be a good Birkenstock week ahead......
