WIW Slub Fub

This is my first WIW. This is a candid shot from a vacation photo. I thought this slub tee was a cute color and comfy but I can see from the pic that this top looks kinda boxy and blah.

So....on my way to a fashion transformation. What are your suggestions on tops to go with this basic black jersey skirt?

My feeling is the top is too long for the skirt.....what about a tucked top? Maybe with a belt, especially if there is an elastic waist......

I do like that color of your t---try it with jeans!

Thanks Isis. The skirt has one of those fold over waists. I will try a shorter length but no sure about tucking with that type of skirt top.

I had a foldover skirt last year and found it impossible to style--the waist looked lumpy under shirts worn out, and didn't seem to look right with shirts tucked in. So that's definitely a challenge--maybe try a shorter tee. The actual skirt is cute, though--I love the flare and the length for casual summer. And the color of the tee is perfect for you.
