WIW: slouchy pants + flowy blouse

Today it is a little cooler so I can wear layers! Yay!

These are black Trina Turk pants that I bought last summer before I knew what slouchy even was.....Paired with a blouse (Bobeau, I think), purple oxfords and an ancient denim jacket with rhinestone buttons....

LOVE IT. You are inspiring me to continue with my unhealthy perseverance for the right slouchy pants. These look fantastic tucked in. I plan to study these photos like a Ph.D. student!

Una, it IS fun to have a different sillouette for pants. Persevere, you will find them....(one thing about these that I like is that they are a little lower on my hips than the 80's versions of pleated pants). I think that makes them hang better.....

I think you've hit on an important point with the slouchy pants Isis - they seem to work best if they either sit lower on the hips or are higher waisted. It's that in-between spot that doesn't seem to work quite right.

You have the slouchy pant's thing nailed! I love the addition of flowy blouse and denim jacket! You said the oxfords are purple? I would love to see a brighter photo of them.

ISIS! This is sa-weeeeet! I love the tucked in feminine top with the masculine vibe of the slouchy, pleated trousers. You were clearly ahead of your time when you bought these pants, lol! the short denim jacket is the perfect topper because it doesn't obscure the pleats or add fullness at an awkward spot. The oxfords are a natural with this outfit. VERY well played!

Love that on you! And it is making me regret all the denim jackets that have passed their way out of our house because yours is perfectly broken in fun!

Great outfit Isis! One of my favorites from you, ever. The rhinestone jacket is the perfect counterpoint to the seriousness of the rest of the outfit. Very cool.

If you wore these with heels it would make the outfit evening-ready as well.

I so agree with everyone else, a great combination and the jean jacket works so well. I wouldn't have tried that with all that black but I guess you know about the column of color!

Fab outfit! I remember when you bought these and posted a pic about them. I believe I said something about wearing them with a bit of a heel, but Angie loved them with the oxfords, if my memory serves me correctly :).

Wow, you have an incredible memory, Jonesy! You are exactly right, most everybody thought a heel would be best (especially since these are also short), but Angie encouraged the oxfords!

Which made me keep them as I don't really do heels. I fall off.
