Today I tried a new look for me: slouchy top (Club Monaco) with slouchy pants (Marciano), worn with my flat Jenny Ara booties: flats with slouch! A completely out of character look for me. It got me really excited, but then I found myself struggling with the topper. And as I run cold, and teach in a large institution, I do need a topper. But I had nothing in my closet to go with this.
I first tried this oversized jacket from Pink Martini (pic 2), but felt drowned and very 80's, which is a vibe I could go for, except, just not mid-week class teaching...
I wanted something that looked a bit more forward or more maternal. I tried every maternal cardi I owned but they all looked frumpy paired with the slouch-on-slouch. Finally I ended up going for... you guessed it... my Club Monaco moto. Sorry, it's so boring now, I know. It seems every excuse is good to wear it! Although looking at the pics, I am not sure it was the best choice.
So, which jacket do you prefer? The oversized one or the moto?
