WIW: Slouch & bling - YouLookFab Forum

Here's what I wore today, to sewing school (where I'm a student, not teaching) and to hang around.

Black slouchy skinnies with bling front pocket flaps (Mos Mosh).
Mixed-print long-sleeved t-shirt (animal print in shades of blue, purple, and black on cream for the body; a graduated stripe in purple and black for the sleeves) with raglan sleeves, a released pleat at center back, high-low hem (made by me)
black menswear belt
purple and black flats (AGL)

The whole outfit is inspired a lot by YLF blog and forum, where I have recently become acquainted with slouchy skinnies, the semi-tuck, and the new looser fit fancy sweatshirts and tees!

Great mix of prints and texture! Love it. I'm amazed that you made that top. I just ordered a sewing machine yesterday. Now I have to figure out how to use it. Maybe i need to go to class! Hope you had fun.

The textures and print suit you. I may like the pants better without the blingy pockets, but they are interesting with the pattern of the top.

Hedgiehog, they might give classes where you bought the machine. We do, at the sewing machine store where I work.
Joy, I sometimes don't want the bling myself. One of the things that drew me to these pants is that you can tuck in the pocket flaps, for just a little peek of the bling through the pocket welts!

The sewing class I take on Wednesdays is called "Sewing Lab," a continuing education course (not for credit) in which you can work on whatever you want. Yes, some of my classmates liked my new t-shirt!

The t-shirt is one that I will teach later this summer at the store where I work; it's a published pattern (Trio Pants, Top, and Tee, from The Sewing Workshop), with a variation that the pattern creator came up with. I do often experiment with my own variations on patterns, though--I rarely make the same pattern exactly the same way twice.
