WIW: slightly groovy - YouLookFab Forum

This is another work all day in collections and frantically try to finish analzying crania (only 14 left!). I thought the slightly flared jeans, hair scarf, and long pendant gave this a slightly groovy vibe, even with the rather lady like grey blazer.

1) Old jeans (3 or 4 years), navy (I thought it was black when I put it on this morning) LS T from last winter, truly ancient grey blazer (8 - 10 years old), vintage snakeskin Docs, (bought last Fall), and new silk scarf in hair.

2) Close up of the deets.

So I am finding my looks are considerably less boho than I had imagined. If you have any suggestion on how to subtly up the boho factor, I'd love to hear them. My goal is to look somewhat nondescript (but in a sort of modern classic way) from a distance, but to have interesting bohemian/ethnic details up close.

Love your details up close - the fingerless gloves and shoes are very cool. You rock a hair scarf, too. As far as looking more boho, personally I associate warm colours and print/texture (rather than solids) with bohemian looks. What about a subtly printed sweater instead of the solid navy?

You do look groovy! Love you in that pink. And your fingerless gloves are especially awesome.

Have you seen the show Bones? The main character is an anthropologist, and in the early seasons I think the stylist did a great job of mixing modern classic pieces with more ethnic/boho stuff. In the later seasons, they've changed to a more ladylike vibe, which is a shame. Anyway, from what I can remember she wore a lot of chunky jewelry and jeans & blazer combos. Also lots of utilitarian textures, like canvas.

I am stupid with fashion terms, so no boho suggestions here either! But you look lovely! The gray, pink, black and blue all work together very well, though you didn't intend for a blue jeans !

Do you get the Sundance catalog? See SundanceCatalog.com. Is that boho? They have a TON of colorful fingerless gloves. I thought Anthro was boho, but somehow their stuff doesn't say MuseumGal to me. . .

I think you have sort of achieved your goal with this outfit. The shoes and the scarf add the boho touch without blowing me away. Anyway I think you look great!

You look terrific in this combo. The red scarf adds boho flair and the Docs add fun. Also practicality for the purpose.
