WiW: skirts dresses and jewellery challenge

It is a busy patch with events on here at the moment. My son finishes school soon, and I have some nice things ahead in the calendar.

1. Off to see a film about a woman running through Iran on her own. The dress has not been altered and in fact my friends banned me from doing so!

2. Off to work. Wearing a new blouse purchased off season - but only just warm enough to put on.

3. Leavers dinner for my son. Also wearing sentimental pieces- diamond rings from my Mum and Mother in law, both who have passed away.

4. Working again - and layering necklaces. I am a beginner with only two being layered. Also has my hair cut and coloured.

5. Out to dinner with friends-still wearing my layered necklaces.

I love the mix of old and new, designer and chain store, with thrifted pieces in the mix. The second hand pieces are the bags, the black blouse and the gold bomber. The pink dress, blue skirt, blouse and jumpsuit are new this season. The black dress and shoes are all last season or older- the boots are seven years old!

Kelly - you would rock a jumpsuit!! I love this one - only worn three times but it is dress up, dress down piece so I plan to wear a lot. The bathroom issue doesn't bother me.

It's spring in NZ! I love to see the skirts and dresses coming out. What a terrific variation in silhouette you have going on here, as well as levels of formality, of course. Love the full skirt dress with the boots -- the boots balance the length/ fullness. I also adore the jumpsuit. That's a great outfit on you. Your comfort level shows.

Thanks Bijou - I am lucky with my hair but I do need to pay a bit more attention to it. I have been really happy to start wearing lighter clothes as I get a bit bogged down in late winter sartorially!

Thanks Notsaf- hope you enjoy your lace dress as much as I enjoy mine. I am yet to wash the shirt dress so it may shrink a little which would be okay. I hope to get another wear out of it with boots over the next week or two before I put the boots away for the summer (I am not a summer boots wearer!)

Thanks Suntiger - it is nice to have some colour among the other neutrals.

Suz - I just feel so much better in lighter weight clothes. Which means I spend more and have a better selection. I have tried to get better in winter with lighter colours and have made some progress but end up defaulting often to a dark uniform. I do not have Angie's power of keeping light colours clean. In warm weather dark colours suit me better too.

Another one chiming in here to say how much I love the jumpsuit and bomber jacket on you ! Possibly my favourite Sally look to date. Nice idea to wear your inherited diamond rings - note to self to do that sometime , as I too have a few from my mom that I have never worn.
