I can already tell this new silk tank is going to be a year-round workhorse. I wore it out for coffee, errands, and sushi today with my leather jacket, cropped jeans, and cap-toe boots. Perfect for today's weird weather--61° this afternoon, with a huge temperature drop and snowstorm rolling in late tonight.

Yes, nothing like a black silk tank workhorse! I have one, with a detachable camisole, thrifted a few years ago for $10. And what a strong, silent worker it is! It's "stretched in the wash" but otherwise still perfect so probably worth the cost of having it taken in.

Love the outfit. And sushi, what a good way to brighten an errand run!

minimalist - I've been looking for a great silk tank forever. It's amazing you found one at resale! A lot of the sustainable brands I'd like to purchase from don't come in my size. Who knew it could be so hard to find quality basics! Sushi, alas, was not a mid-errands break, but dinner our with my 15-year-old. My husband is out of town, so son and I are spoiling ourselves.

Angie - A "killer" from you always makes my day! Would you believe the bag was an impulse purchase at World Market? I found it on the clearance shelf, when I'd gone in to buy some baskets.This is why you're so right when you say to leave room for wildcards.

Perfect wear-around-town outfit - I love it!
The folks who have reviewed that tank at Garnet Hill were not as pleased as you. I always find it interesting when a basic item works SO well for some people and not at all for others.

Ryce - Right?! I read those reviews before purchasing, and being relatively busty, chose to size up. It does fit a little loosely around the neck and armholes, but I wear a matching bra beneath and it doesn't bother me. I actually kind of appreciate the loose fit at the underarms, because it keeps the tank free of sweat/deodorant stains, which means I don't need to handwash as often.
