W.I.W. Sick of Summer here in Australia!

Good Morning All.
It has been a very hot, dry Summer. Usually where I live we have a few days of rising temps. then a welcome cool change, but not this year.
I went to a Birthday celebration at a casual restaurant/bar and decided to wear this new cotton dress. I really thought I would be over-dressed, but was pleasantly surprised by the number of ladies in dresses too.
Tried to casualise the outfit by leaving off a gold and diamente cuff bracelet I bought with this dress in mind, and by wearing my fav. grey sandals.
The dress came with a belt in the same fabric, but I swapped it for the bright salmon for more interest.
Thanks for looking- comments welcome, since I don't wear dresses regularly.

Ah....the grass is always greener, hey? Or snowier! I'm sick of winter here....snowing as we speak, and we're looking at another 2 feet of it over the weekend....yuck!

I am so sorry about the heat -- I get that way too and it is much harder to look stylish in hot weather. But you have done a splendid job here. I love the addition of the salmon belt and the grey sandals!

Lyn, firstly look you just gorgeous. This is such a lovely and flattering silhouette. The colour is lovely and the addition of the light belt is perfect. You look cool and elegant.

Just before I opened your post is was sitting in bed having a cuppa thinking to myself I just don't think I can handle another day of this heat:(. Im at a complete loss as to what to wear to church this morning. The last week has been mid 30's here with the last two days being quite high humidity (not good for the hair lol) and this coming week we are looking at 30 every day. It's exhausting and I just want to be able to layer:(

Angie, thanks- I was actually cold at the venue due to the a/c, and who would consider a topper at 30deg. C?

Well despite the heat you look lovely and cool, thats a great colour. It does seem that YLF is having s dress influence on many of us.

You look great in your summer dress! Hot humid weather day after day is just the worst , most energy draining weather there is. It is still cold here and I don't look forward to the summer heat that usually starts in May.

Ta Carol, the dress challenge was well-timed and a good one for those like me with unworn/rarely worn dresses in their wardrobe!

Oof, I know how you feel - this passed summer was too hot and wouldn't end in CA, too. Hang in there! I love the bright turquoise with the muted shoes and bag!

Beautiful colour on you - sounds like unusual weather for Melbourne (I have remembered that right haven't I). It's been hot (for Auckland) and dry (for Auckland) here as well and personally hoping this weather lasts. Fortunately it has cooled down overnight.

You look STUNNING. And I am taking notes. I find summer dressing the absolute toughest and even though it should, in theory, be easier...after all, not so many pieces, right? Yet that just makes it harder! This is a lovely colour on you.

You look great! I love the colour break from the belt and I love your shoes! I totally sympathise as it's been a hot hot summer here in Johannesburg, South Africa and I am SO ready for winter!
