WIW: shorts outfit, coral and turquise

Just trying to experiment with my tailored shirts and wear them in a different ways. I don't have dress code at work so longer shorts are ok. Added turquise beads and bracelet for some southwestern feel. Any input welcome:)

Color combo is great. I always wonder about this length in shorts - should they be a little more tapered at the bottom?

I love coral and turquoise together - so fresh! I'd probably put all the bracelets on one arm since you have the turqoise beads and belt as well, but it looks nice just as you've styled it here.

I like the turquoise belt better than the light one. Perhaps a black belt would be nice too. I think colored belts are tricky.

texstyle: actually, these short are supposed to be straight leg because if they are tapered more at the bottom, I Think it creates unflattering pear shape effect

Something about this strikes me as off, and I don't think it's a style-preference thing so much as a one-thing-doesn't-match thing. I think this look would totally work if the shirt and shorts were crisper. Or if the shirt were worn more casually. I's like this outfit is trying to be two things and once and not quite hitting it?

The colors are great on you, I must say!

I love coral and turquoise - I just bought me that J Crew bubble necklace in turquoise to rock it off during summer. I'm planning a white tee, bubble necklace, coral pencil skirt and cognac sandals outfit... Can't wait for warmer weather!!!

I think this is a fab MOTG / casual outfit - I'm so jealous of your dress code. I'm suggesting minor tweaks and please take my opinion with a HUGE grain of salt:

As far as the turquoise jewelry, I would do the necklace or the bracelet, but not both, since you have the turquoise sandals. It becomes too much of a good thing, you know? I'd say go with the necklace, so it bookends the sandals.

I don't think you need a belt and I would actually untuck the shirt or do a messy half tuck, to add to the relaxed vibe. I think the tuck + belt distracts from the one strong point of interest that "I think" you are trying to achieve, which is the coral and turquoise color combination. That way, the eye goes straight to the fab combo.

I think the shorts look good but I am not an expert on the cropped pant department or in anything else for that matter!!!!

Zapotee: thank you for input. I actually am not a huge fan of wearing shirts untucked especially if its a tailored shirt and the one i am wearing was too loose to look good otherwise(but that's just me). I have seen women carry that off but it always feels odd to me. I actually tried it with black sandals first and thought it looked fine but I wanted to get some use of these turquise sandals(because I always wear black shoes and I guess I am just trying to change that:)
Incidentally, I end up wearing belts with most pants I own because they are always slightly too big in the waist, even after being tailored they always seem to want to slide down, not sure why that is:(

Cute outfit! I have turquoise sandals too, but yours look nicer. Are the Born? I usually stack on my turquoise bracelets when I wear them, but I don't have earrings or a necklace in turquoise, whenever I've tried them it seems like too much.

I actually like the shirt tucked in, and you're lucky to have shorts that sit at your waist so that this works! I like the belt matching your shoes, very nice, but the neutral belt is nice too. This is a pretty, feminine button front shirt, the color looks great with turquoise for sure. I think the shorts look fine straight. I think they would need to be at or below the knee for a taper to look right. Nice outfit!

I like this a lot, but prefer the turquoise belt. You somehow manage to look polished in a shorts outfit...I always end up looking rumpled and haggard, lol

Coral blouse and turquoise beads are a winning combo. FWIW I'm not too good on shorts but to my eye they would be even more flattering if they were slightly longer - say knee length.

Coral and turquoise pretty much say "summer" don't they? Can't beat the color combo.
Your two strand turquoise necklace is terrific with the collared shirt and personally I say heap on the turquoise and keep it coming. Sandals are a fun addition.

I like the fit of the shorts but wonder if they are too dark for the rest? Looks fine but I'd love to see you do the same top and the turquoise with a lighter shade bottom and see how that works sometime just to play with contrasts.

I love the color combo -- I see what Zap is saying though, and i think a simple solution would be a thin black belt that would blend in with the shorts more. I love the idea of keeping the turquoise sandals and necklace.

I see what you are saying with the shirt. At the time I wrote my response, I was using my cell phone, and the shirt looked a bit different, more relaxed, so yes, it might not work out if you untuck it. I agree.
Ha, I so understand the belt issue, my pants fall down no matter what I do. In that case, I prefer combo #2, with the turquoise belt, the necklace and sandals.
