WIW: Shopping trip - YouLookFab Forum

Little shopping trip this morning, a few essentials (sun cream/sun hat for Child! We have sunshine and high temps here!) and some bits I needed. I've been looking on and off for sandals the last month or so, and think I found the right ones today!

I started off in the jumper and boots, but wound up taking the jumper off just before I caught the bus home. Once home, I switched into the black sandals (and painted my toe nails for the first time since last summer!).

Apologies for disjointedness of photos, I haven't got a long mirror currently, that's the next 'big' purchase.

#1: Top half neckline
#2: Better pic of ribbed jumper - Several years old, from Primark
#3: Flares - Several years old, no idea where from!
#4: Strappy top - underneath jumper, from Bravissimmo, last year or poss the year before.
#5: Black wedge boots - bought a month or so ago, from a shop in our local mall called Tofs Clearance
#6: Brown Wedge Sandals - bought today from Tofs Clearance
#7: Black Wedge Sandals - match to the brown, from Tofs Clearance today
#8: Diamonte pull-on sneakers - from Tofs Clearance today, perfect for the school run!

Turquoise is one of my favourite colours too, I'm glad that this jumper has stayed true to colour despite the number of times it's been washed!

Angie, I definitely need a long mirror, it's next on the shopping list, just got to figure out where to put it!

Lovely tourquoise on you! I am glad you found your sandals! If space is a challenge, try mounting your tall mirror on the inside of a closet door.

Angie, MaineLady, unfortunately no closets in this house - the only cupboard is the old boiler cupboard in the main bedroom, which is square and short and 2ft off the ground! My clothes are in there, in various boxes/bags of types!
There is possibly space at the top of the stairs, to one side of the landing, but then comes a light issue - natural light comes through from the bedrooms, so only really the electric light is available permanently.

The butterfly pendant was a Secret Santa gift from a coworker 3(?) years ago, and tends to be the one I wear most.

Minor update re the sandals/sneakers:

I wore the black sandals for the afternoon school run (roughly 20 mins each way) and discovered as I walked home that blisters were appearing! One on the 'inside top' of each foot, where the top edge of the toe band hits my foot. Likely this is due to my oddly shaped feet - they are widest at the ball of my foot, with a pronounced 'bump' on the joint of the big toe/foot. Generally, more wears/plasters will ease this predicament, as wearing the sandals in softens/flexes the band.

I wore the sneakers on Friday, for the morning school run and, as expected, acquired a small blister on my heel, where the top of the sneaker heel rubbed, but a plaster was applied, and I wore them again for today for shopping. Although I was limping slightly as I set out, the walking did ease the fit of the heel and while I will have to wear plasters for the next few wearings blisters should be to a minimum within a week or so. Again, I blame the shape of my feet, my heels/ankles are very narrow, and sneakers/trainers/etc always rub at that point on the first couple of wearings. My heels are why I can't wear low vamp shoes without ankle straps, as I walk straight out of them no matter how well they fit elsewhere! Mildly irritating, as low vamp heels would help elongate my legs, but liveable with.
