It was a busy weekend for us, with a shopping expedition (not clothing, sadly), a rare date night and a kiddie birthday party at a local farm.
#1-2 Shopping: ON Rockstar skinnies, striped top (old), quilted jacket (Brooks Brothers), very comfy black wedge heels
-- very on-topic, with Angie's post on striped tops this morning, although I'm not sure I've really worn it in a very creative fashion!
This is a new silhouette for me. As a newbie to skinnies, I've become comfortable with them tucked into boots with a long top. I decided to branch out a bit and try them without boots. I'm not sure I love the look ( I feel like the tight jeans and tapered leg draws a lot of attention to my rather large quads - in my gymnast days I was nicknamed "Quadzilla", lol). My husband was a fan, though.
#3-4: Date night! Gray dress (Horny Toad), Pink Jacket (Caslon), same shoes as above.
In the mirror, this belt looked like a great match with the jacket. In the light outdoors, not so much! I ended up gong without the belt as shown in pic #4
#5: Birthday party at he farm: Orange top (old), brown cord jacket (J Crew, old), brown shawl cardigan (Target), ON rockstar skinnies, boots (Born Sage). Orange scarf.
In pictures, I feel like this jacket makes me look like I have huge shoulders (jacket shoulders are not padded, though). It looked like that in most of the pics, so I'm not sure if it's something I can fix (I look like that in a lot of jackets). I'm an IT, so perhaps that's no surprise.
Feedback always welcome!
ETA: I forgot that I actually did do some quick clothes shopping while my husband was busy at the Microsoft store! I bought the bracelet in pic 3/4 at Ann Taylor since they were having a 30% off sale (http://www.anntaylor.com/ann/p.....Color=7166). It was a perfect match to the jacket nd only $15 so I was very excited
