I was happy to see today's ensemble because it made choosing an outfit this morning easy! There's a bit of subtle pattern mixing going on with my pinstripe silk blouse under a handknit striped shell. I like the effect of the vertical and horizontal stripes together! The "sleeves" on the shell are grown on sleeves, and not real separate sleeves, so I'm classifying it as a shell. I paired the tops with my distressed long BF jeans and flat oxfords (I needed flats after yesterday's unexpectedly long day in heels left my feet feeling rather tired) for a tomboyish look. As a topper, I chose my Spiegel lemming jacket to continue the tomboy effect. (I briefly considered my turquoise moto but thought the girly color ruined the integrity of the outfit.)
By the way, I was experimenting with buttoning my shirt up almost all the way (not the very top button on the collar though, as my neck is just too short for that) here, and I actually like the look but have to admit that after 5 minutes I had to unbutton the top button because I felt like I was being choked!
Joe Fresh blouse, handknit shell, Gap jeans, Born oxfords, Spiegel jacket, and Longchamp bag.
