WIW Saturday Errands with my College Girl!

Hello Everyone!

I am a happy Mama because all my little birdies are in the nest for the weekend. My college-aged daughter is home! So we are going to do a little shopping....

For me, I am wearing:

My new floral Equipment blouse.
EF flutter sweater
Levi's
Old pewter wedges
My signature watch pendant (close-up)

I haven't ever tucked, semi or faux...should I or could I? Is the floral too old lady? I love how it combines grey, blue, and white.

Suggestions appreciated!

The floral is NOT old lady! That is a lovely blouse, silk I assume, and it looks perfect with your coloring. I want to see it style another way too, like tucked into pants, no sweater.

Lovely sweater --- and the print is not old lady. You look chic with the relaxed sweater and metallic flats. I definitely think you should experiment with tucking, semi and faux-tucking. I find it works best with midrise (not too high in the waist) trousers and jeans. I'm also tucking under cardis like yours for a sleeker look. And I'm 50 and a size 14 --- no model torso here!

Thanks for the encouraging, kind words.

Karymk....I haven't tucked or not tried to camouflage my big bum in years! I think I would have to muster a bit more courage to wear something tucked--AND without a jacket or sweater. It's a hang-up of mine, I know, and hope to get over one day.

BethAnn.....Thank you for sharing that you, too, are the same size as me! And, I will be 50 next year too. I will be following your lead to see how I can update my look. Perhaps I will try this "tucking" phenomenon yet!

My daughter Liz and I had so much fun shopping together. She bought a pair of new skinnies and looked fantastic. I was just the cheerleader today.

Marmee....it definitely gets better! I love hanging out with my fashionista now. She sports a super chic pixie cut and loves to wear retro-styled clothing. She is so fun and opposite in style from her old mama!

I love the blouse and in the colorway it is not old lady at all. I think I have that same watch necklace from a long time ago. Your hair looks fantastic! Enjoy your time with your kids.

I think you look fab. I would be keen to see the shirt semi tucked as I think it would just add the aditional touch of modern to the floral. Your hair is gorgeous.

Soooooo, how does one go about semi-tucking? I presume I would need a belt.....maybe grey/silver? I am so self-conscious about not covering up my bottom half; it would be a big step for me!

Thanks for you kind comments! Liz & I had a great time! Here is a shot of my daughter Liz last summer. Now, her hair is red! I love that she is not only my daughter, but now my friend....who also loves fashion!
