WIW: Saturday casual look...fade to grey

Sorry about the 80s song title....I just downloaded a Ministry of Sound 80s mix...

I took this photo as I rushed out the door to meet my mum and sis at the shops....and now, back home and looking at it, the grey is wrong.

I do love the top, it's the finest wool and has beautiful bell sleeves, but it's not right with this....is it the denim, or the scarf colours, the neutral boot?.....I don't know. I usually wear it with black and it looks great. Perhaps the denim skirt needed a black belt and maybe the scarf was wrong...

Suggestions welcome.

Firstly, I LOVED Visage :).

I like your outfit. Has a bit of a 70's vibe(!). I am not sure the boots are wrong as on my screen the lighter boots seems to work with the lighter tones in your hair. But maybe a brown boot would would bookend better? Otherwise I think this quite cool looking.

How was the shopping? Buy anything?

I rather like it! There perhaps needs to be a bit more cohesion which could be achieved by a bag or belt but I think it's a nice casual look and on trend.

Thank you ladies. I'll have a little play with a belt and maybe darker boots next time I wear it. The denim skirt is new and it's great to create an easy casual look, but I haven't had a chance to test out some different looks with it.

Deborah, I bought some jeans from Cotton On on recommendation from my niece. They're called mid-rise skinnies and they're very flattering and comfy.
I have been playing the 80s mix like there's no tomorrow!

I like this a lot. I think the top and scarf look great with the denim. I agree that maybe a warmer, richer brown for the footwear may bookend a little better, but I think the outfit looks great as is.

I like this a lot as it is! I'd like to see it with darker brown or cognac boots for comparison, though.

I like this outfit exactly as it is. I couldn't appreciate nude-ish colored shoes until I saw them as backgound support, semi-invisible. A darker shoe might match your hair better but this color doesn't interrupt your leg line which might be more important in this context.

Plus, these particular boots are a pretty color.

I like this. A great Saturday look. On the boots front... I think maybe a peep toe boogie might be more the thing, for a total summery look.
