WIW: Same Pants, Different Years

Today's our first 90°+ (33° C) day of the season, and I dug out the capris I wore constantly last year.

I'm wearing them cuffed up to pedal-pusher length with a black top, multi-strand leather bracelet, sandals, belt, and subtle heirloom locket (those are my grandparents inside). It's not a great hair morning, but it'll get better as the day shakes out.

Last year (pic 2), I wore them full-length with a black sleeveless top, Chuck Taylors, and a brass cuff.

I'm not sure what my point is here, except that my eye is changing, and the same pieces look different styled differently. And I still haven't decided whether to get rid of these pants.

How do you feel in the capris? Do you find them useful? More gear or more casual? If more casual, maybe lower vamped footwear? They look like they could be pretty handy in summer, and I like the color.

I really like this year's version! I think it works well on you because it's really a line of dark -- it's not a column of colour exactly, but tonally it is, and your hair also adds to the effect.

delurked, I haven't found anything that I love to wear when it's this hot and I have to function (we only have AC in one room). The capris are fine and useful, but they don't make me dance with glee or anything.

I love the colour and wearing them as two different crop lengths...but truth, there's something about the way they hang that feels off to me. Maybe it's the pockets...

rachylou, I'm thinking it might be the way they taper below the knee? I might keep them just for camping/hiking.

Why get rid of them if they work, great job in both picties! I really like when the same piece look differently if newly styled-in fact it is one of my main requirement ref. my wardrobe functionality:-).

Okay, you've all convinced me to keep the capris! I probably won't wear them as much this year as I did last, but it's nice to have them as an option for hot, casual days.

I like both versions. I think those capris are a great color--kind of burgundy or eggplant, right? They work well with your black tops as well as your tan sandals, and I think they would be brilliant with mustard, too.

Ooh, count me among the fans of these years version too! I think you should hang on to those capri pants.
