WIW: ruffle hem top with kick crops and a semi-tuck

Today's outfit ensemble inspired me to wear this ruffle hem top with my hacked kick crops. I think the length of the top+ the drop waist style is not the best on me (the ruffle sits right over my widest part), so I semi-tucked it. Paired with my new teal sneakers because they are a perfect match for the top right down to the pink stripe.

(Target x Liberty top, Radcliffe jeans, New Balance sneakers, Tulle jacket, and Longchamp bag)

Suz, I didn't have this top in mind when I bought the shoes. But there is no shortage of teal in my closet.

Angie, here is a pic of it untucked. Not quite fair because there is a jacket over it which mitigates the wide hips effect. It's not the ruffle that's the issue really, it's the drop waist. It's also OK over full length or skinny pants, but I feel like it's too hip-emphasizing with the flared crops.

It's funny, I almost always wear my tops untucked. I rarely even semi-tuck these days. So what are the odds that the one day there is an untucked ensemble, I decide I need to tuck it?!?!

I was curious to see how this looked after reading your comment on the blog post this morning! It's like a fun little ruffle surprise in back. I LOVE how it looks untucked though, even if that means a jacket will accompany. Cute sneaks. I like how the bottom is ultra casual, with the sneaks and cutoff hem, and the top is pretty and relaxed boho.

I am super late here, but had to comment as I really love that ruffled teal top on you, Diana. Great job with hacking off the jeans too. I am back to really wanting more teal in my wardrobe after a couple of years of ignoring it and am really disappointed at how little of it is available.
