Yesterday's outfit apparently made me look like a rock star (at least according to a gentleman in the elevator on my way to my office who complimented me on the outfit and then told me I look like a rock star).

Closet orphans who don't get much play:

  • Matthew Williamson for H&M olive brown leather moto jacket
  • Diane Von Furstenburg Olive/Brown/Gold leopard silk blouse (I actually love this blouse the structured, knit silk and the drape skims the body without hugging. I think it's the draped neck that makes me put it back in the closet more often than not. It dips a little low and if I bend over in it without paying attention folks get a free show!)
Flea Market finds from last Sunday:
  • Vintage cateye sunglasses (can't tell in photo but they are black with these cool pearlescent gray striations in them. Beautifully made, solid, glass lenses-- early ones that were made in france)
  • Greater LA Vintage leather boots (these are so comfortable because of the chunky heel! I love the very pointy toe and slight platform. You can't tell in the photo because I pulled the pant ankle down over them but they're higher on the ankle, like a granny boot. I think these will get lots of play and they remind me so much of a pair that Prada recently put out)
I don't usually care for double leather (leather pants and jacket together) but I saw some outfits on Pinterest that made the look work well. So I figured if I was doing two different colors of leather I'd make the attempt to pull it off. It did feel pretty "rockstar" to me. Ha! These are the days I really love working at a place where anything goes, fashion-wise

Additional outfit items:

  • Allsaints leather pants (via ebay)
  • Chanel gold cross-body bag (via designer consignment)
  • Black cotton scarf (via Dillards in Las Vegas like 8 years ago)
  • Gold and diamond snake earrings (via Santa Monica Art Gallery)
  • Vince black cashmere cropped cardigan (can't see it really. I used it just to add a layer of warmth -via ebay)
