Hi all! Here’s a roundup from the past week or so. I hope everyone’s enjoying early spring!

1 & 2 - I was very happy with how this outfit turned out. I got this Marimekko top on ThredUp and love it, but it had baggy short sleeves, which I can’t stand. So I cut them off and now have a sleeveless top that layers well, plus the sleeves make two kerchiefs for my cats to match me. Pictured is Galaxy showing his matching look

3 - Return: got this gorgeous Marni dress from ThredUp, retails for $1990, I paid maybe $80. ThredUp has a partnership with Rent The Runway so you can get designer items at an enormous markdown. I love the dress, but unfortunately it was too tight in the arms. Back it goes! I’ll try a size up if one becomes available.

4 - Return: this Corey Lynn Calter dress from ThredUp has an absolutely terrible fit. It has stabby boning that seemed to only be in the back of the bodice, while the front managed to completely flatten my bust despite being fine size wise. Back it goes, and it’s put me off trying this brand again. I expect better from designer items.

5 - Return & Purchase: These Joie jeans from ThredUp were great, just a size too small. I found a size up on Poshmark so I’ve ordered them with high hopes.

6 - Return: I love the idea of white denim, and these Gap jeans from ThredUp fit great, but wearing them just made me too nervous. In fact, I attempted to wear them to get my vaccination on Saturday only to decide that i was way too stressed about staining them. The split hem also looks cool but was annoying in practice as it flaps all around when you walk.

My sudden change of heart about my white jeans set off a long, frustrating, and fruitless quest for new pants over the weekend. Most of our shops don’t have dressing rooms open, and while you can buy and return that isn’t what I would prefer with trying jeans. I thought I’d head straight to Gap since I know my size there, only to discover that the Gap at our mall closed. I had no idea! With that closure I can’t see a reason to visit our mall again. I don’t buy new from many stores, and we don’t have any of them at our mall (Anthropologie, Madewell, J. Crew). We’re about an hour from the enormous, fancy King Of Prussia mall here in PA and 1.5 hours from Philly so I’ll have to plan my in-person shopping around trips.

7 - By the end of the day I was tired, cranky, and really aggravated by my shopping attempts, so I went into a random new shop and impulse bought the lavender sweatshirt dress shown. As far as impulse buys go it’s a good one. Super comfortable, has pockets, and just a bit cheerier for loungewear. I’ve happily worn it all weekend and given up on finding more pants right now. Has anyone else had a particularly hard time shopping lately?
