Here are two outfits from this week. Apparently I decided to wear all my red shoes.
1/2/3: This jersey dress is new, bought to replace a couple of old, dead ones. The striped part at the bottom is actually the bottom of a built-in lining (also jersey) which is clever because it makes the body of the dress double-layered and much less likely to show lumps and bumps. It's maybe borderline too short for work with bare legs (not that anyone really cares about that but me and obviously I don't care that much because I wore it to work and felt fine about it) but I will be primarily wearing it with tights, leggings, or pants once it gets cooler. I topped it with my capejacket to add a little edge. I would actually have preferred this with tougher mid-calf boots but it's still a bit too warm for those.
In #3, I tried it on with the red Docs, which I am still undecided about keeping. (I love the 90's floral dress+combat boots look so clearly I had to try it with this dress). What do you think?
Bailey 44 dress, Portlandia booties, Catherine Malandrino capejacket
4: I don't wear this top much even though it is my favorite color; I think the dark brown part (the neck tie plus the shoulder area which is covered by my hair here) throws me off because I almost never wear chocolate brown. I decided to try it with my silk printed maxi here, which is one of a very few darker brown things I own, and my red Danskos.
Tulle top, Anthro skirt, Dansko shoes.
