I had my two week post-op checkup and my doc said I'm doing so well that he cleared me to do anything except lifting and heavy exercise involving abs! I still get sore and tired and swollen if I overdo it, but I am feeling ready to get back to life.
Then I came back to my own house today and was a little horrified at the housekeeping situation... which ended with me cleaning the stove and dusting. BLAH. I know my DH has been overwhelmed with being a solo working parent of boy and pets, but apparently I don't have the kind of personality that can just relax and let it go. Thus, I am going back to my parents' condo so I don't have to look at it any more until I can tackle it.
In any case, I'm having dinner at a friend's house and thought I would attempt real clothes. A kurta and EF harem pants seemed like a good choice, and I'm wearing these Sketchers since they are light, stable and slip on. Not the most stylish ensemble, but comfort is key. I'm still quite swollen but already feel quite a difference and have so much more energy. I can't believe I didn't take before measurements or pics! I know how my climbing harness fit pre-op so that will give me a good sense.
Thank you again for all your incredible support and kindness throughout this process (total abdominal hysterectomy!). And feedback welcome!
And for those who are interested in more medical details, let me know - I'll PM you. Let's just say it was more than necessary, though all benign.
