I felt like dressing fairly corporate today so popped on my crisp BB button down shirt (a.k.a. Rocky), my black midi pencil skirt, my black vest, mini polka dotted hose, trusty Clarks shoes and some faux pink pearls to add some "girly" factor. I've added my snakeskin clutch and off I go...

I like how this outfit turned out but what do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Shannon I love doing the corporate thing:). This is just gorgeous. Beautifully put together, classic and very stylish. You not only look stylish, you exude authority and confidence. The blouse is very feminine and I love the addition of the pearls. And great shoes!

From the descriptions of the pieces I would not have thought corporate but the outfit definitely has that vibe. Very nice as always.

Hello Rocky! So nice to see you on this spring day! This is definitely a power outfit. I love what you did with the vest and the pearls. I know midis are in but I still think I prefer the length of yesterday's skirt on you. Just my (shortie) perspective! Knock 'em dead today!!

I love that BB shirt on you! It has such a beautiful collar and cuffs. The thrifted pearls are a great addition and you could break out that vest a lot more often as far as I'm concerned! I find the cut-away style very flattering on you (how about over your black and white dress). Those are great shoes, and I just noticed the dots on your hose, so cute! This is a beautifully strong and feminine outfit on you Shannon. You look fab!

Claire - I was wondering about the vest over the dress as well. I'll have to try it and see how it looks together. My one concern would be the dress has short cap sleeves so with the vest, may look almost sleeveless. Mind you, that could possibly work too!

Lyn - I'm so thrilled with this clutch. I was looking for an oversized one but didn't want to pay big bucks until I tried one out to see how it worked for my life. I think this one cost no more than $5 if I remember correctly; and thanks for the info about Taifun. I knew nothing about it when I thrifted the skirt. This skirt is amazing - although fully lined it is machine washable and hang to dry. It hardly wrinkles at all and just keeps going and going...

I don't know exactly why but identify that vest with you, like when we say it is a Heather skirt or some Una boots, that is a Shannon vest.
And with a day clutch no less.
It is a perfect outfit!

Ooh, I love this! I would have wanted a more cropped vest, but I think this length makes it more corporate suit. You look great in lavender. I was just reading in In Style about how lavender is the best of the pastels!

You look terrific! And not TOO corporate at all. The colour of the shirt plus the vest. vs. jacket prevent that.

Love this Shannon. The hosiery and high-vamp shoe give a little "modern" to the look, and the pearls and lavender keep the "lady" in the corporate. Excellent mix!
