WIW: Pura Lopez Sandal Booties

Yay for Denim Days! Today's outfit was specifically chosen to work with my newly thrifted Pura Lopez brown suede sandal booties. I'm in LOVE with these! I've paired them with my W&W skinnies, a silk hi-lo sleeveless top in purple/beige/brown animal print, and royal purple silk blend mesh shrug. Both the sleeveless top and shrug are from last year, before I joined YLF. Hopefully they still work. I've added my gold mesh bangle for jewelry and am wearing my Brighton handbag.

How are the proportions? Does this outfit work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Yay! And you wear jeans so well. These sandal booties are beautiful and add a mega twist of style. I very much like the tank too. Its rich colours and beautiful print are perfect for this look.

I like it without the shrug better but offices can get really cold so I tottally understand! The blouse is pretty cool and you look fab!

Beautiful pieces Shannon:). The blouse, jeans and bootie/sandals is a stunning combo. The shrug is a gorgeous color however it doesn't say "Shannon" to me in this context. I would consider a longer, but still shorter than the blouse, cardigan/jacket. I will just qualify this by saying that from about 2000 to 2005 you couldn't swing a cat without hitting a woman wearing a shrug! Major shrug overkill and I'm obviously still getting over it lol. You still look seriously fab tho.

Deborah - sometimes I think you're in my head! I originally had on with this combo a gold-toned shorter semi-fitted blazer with 3/4 sleeves and then at the last minute changed it. See.....you should always go with your first instinct!

Shrugs are not dated at all. This outfit looks great with a shrug! It will also look fab with a jacket

Well, I am glad Angie says it is not dated with the shrug, because I like it! That blouse is so gorgeous. LOVE the shoes.

And I am so in awe of your ability to find really great pieces by makers that I might just pass over as probably no good for me. I don't know why...I will look at the stuff on the rack and not see possibilities, somehow. Maybe it looks too business like for me. I'm not really sure what my objection is. I think it's mostly that the way they'll have styled it at the Bay (or wherever) it will look so conservative. But you make it all look wonderful and make me feel that maybe I don't live in a complete shopping wasteland after all.

Suz - I must admit that for the most part, I do find Nygard to very hit or miss in terms of style. Much of it can be stuffy, bordering on "old lady". But the fit of their clothes is usually quite good on me, especially in the petite sizing, so I try to keep an open mind when looking. I almost NEVER wear their items as they have them styled on the mannequins, again because I find it unexciting. But the odd piece has promise and I try to think of it styled in more modern ways. This tank for example was styled on the mannequin with a matching skirt and long brown cardigan. It looked "heavy" and the matching top and skirt was just way too much of this print. I didn't even try the skirt on and thought the blouse could work with other bottoms much better. I also find that they can have more possible items in one season and then absolutely nothing that appeals to me for the next.

Hmmm, so Nygard isn't a hip happening brand? I would have never known that from looking at that cool top, especially with the hemline, which I love! I'd love to see this outfit with a blazer that still shows the bottom bit of the top. I love the way your new fab sandals continue the legline from your jeans because of their high, dark vamp. I see you're on team wear ASAP too! You look fab, Shannon!

I adore those shoes!!! I would steal them from you if my arms could reach that far. You look fab in the outfit and I love the color of the shrug although a jacket would also work nicely. Even a denim jacket!

Love it, Shanon! I'm impressed that you scored a hi-low top before YLF. And the shrug seems right on with the super-crop trend (hm, maybe I need one, lol). You already know I think the sandals are rockin'!

Love the combo of the blouse with the skinnies and your shooties are TDF!! Seriously!! The only thing I am not loving is the shrug. For some reason I feel like it would be better if it was long sleeved. Colors are fab though and it totally works for you.

Update on the Pura Lopez sandal booties: I have been wearing them for 4.5 hours now with a fair bit of walking (on concrete no less) and they feel FANTASTIC! Not an "owie" anywhere. These are crazy comfy - all for $9.00 trade-in thrifting credit! Whoo hoo!!!

Love this, Shannon. The asymmetric hem top is gorgeous on you--fab colors too! I like the shrug--it adds some fun color while letting the blouse shine!

I think shrugs went from trendy to classic and classic is fashion neutral: Not trendy or dated. Can classic items date? Heck yea, but that's a whole 'nother topic.

I love the outfit as is. It gives you many topper choices as I see it: A blazer, jean jacket, the shrug, a long or short cardigan, an unbuttoned blouse etc...

Brown and purple with denim are amazing on you. I wasn't an initial fan of the shrug but I do love the color. A jacket could hide the pretty pattern but also an option.

Shoes were an awesome trade for the others - no regrets on that !
