Hello, all you beautiful people!
I wanted to post my outfit from today because I was SO HAPPY with it, and tomorrow I'm planning on doing Angie's awesome bling up jeans ensemble for a casual family Christmas dinner.
These are my fabulous new pants from Torrid and a soft button down shirt I've had for years, a faux fur vest I was given as a birthday present a couple years ago, and my favorite booties I bought earlier this year. The fur vest ensemble did inspire me to wear mine, although I went a bit more maximal with my checked pants.
THIS is the direction my style is going in 2017, y'all. I found it. I'm really loving it. Just like I'm loving my LIFE.
Today I had breakfast at the Southern restaurant where someone very dear to me works, and at night she and I and a bunch of others went to see the holiday lights at a nearby university that does an awesome display every year. I included a picture of the dragon over the water, which was my favorite part. It's been warm this week in the Atlanta area, so the vest was the perfect outer layer--I was actually a bit TOO hot by the end of the walk because it's quite warm.
A week from today I'm going to visit my best friend in New York (I'll be posting my WIP travel capsule and asking for suggestions soon), and next month I'm going to Washington, DC for the Women's March and will be figuring out what to pack for that, as well.
2016 has so not been my year, between my divorce, my financial situation (as a result of the divorce), and current events, but I have to say, the last couple weeks have been absolutely amazing for me and I'm going into 2017 with an extremely positive and optimistic attitude. I'm still worried about some of the things that got me down, but I'm taking control of as much as I can and knowing that my personal life is in great shape and at the end of the day, I'm feeling the happiest I've felt in years.
Happy holidays to everyone, and cheers for the new year!
