WIW: proportions?

Sorry to be so scarce - I'm at a week long training conference right here in town but have no computer access all day!

I got this skirt at Target because it's knit and reminded me of Helmut Lang for a whole lot cheaper. I am about to ditch all my structured pencil skirts in favor of these knit styles. Is the proportion off here? Any help appreciated!

This looks great on you. I am a bit embarrassed at times about how much of my clothing comes from Target. They have a great on-line, too, I am never far from one of the three Targets in my town.

Love it! The proportions are great. It makes your legs look a mile long because the waist is higher. Beautiful, Una! (And clever you, finding it at Target. I love Target for fun bargains.)

I think it looks great. And I'm bummed that nothing that cool seems to appear at my Target. I do stock up on layering tanks there though.

I love the skirt but I'm not 100% sure I'm loving the tucked-in top with the longer topper (cardi?). I kind of want the lengths on the two top pieces to be less dramatically different.

Somewhere I read that 1/3 to 2/3 are the ideal proportions. I think you nailed it.

That does seem like a great skirt. Lots of options for toppers.
I agree with MaryK--if you want to be picky, I'd try to get just one "horizontal line" going with the skirt, and pick either a short top--either a tucked-in blouse or knit or a cropped boxy sweater or short cardi--or something worn longer, like a top or buttoned-up longer cardigan. I just think that would show off the skirt more and be less distracting. Not sure anybody notices that IRL, though!
Hope to see more great stylings with this skirt.

Proportions work well, Una. I wouldn't go longer on the topper though. Keep it on the shorter side. The tucked in top here did wonders to make the long topper work over the midi at your petite height. As did heeled booties. Good job.

You don't need an excuse to shop at Target! It is being phased in in my area and I like it so far. I think the proportions are fine. Like that skirt length on you.
