Wiw: preppy sweet

Hi fabbies,
This is my attempt to integrate sneakers into my style. Hmmm not bad. Hope the overall look isnt TOO preppy/sweet. I can get carried away...

I do not think it is TOO preppy/sweet. I think it is a very pretty outfit. Love the printed skirt!

Super cute skirt! Something about the skirt and shoes looks slightly off to me, though. Maybe try a shorter skirt with the sneakers? Or different shoes?

I love the skirt and shoes. To me visually it is the top that throws it off. I would tuck all the way in and add a slim mauve belt or blush pink to match the shoes.

Bridgie, Kathie and Ledonna: thanks so much for looking and taking the time to comment I appreciate it. Well I was wondering if the top is a little too loose? It’s kind of a slouchy fit..... a blush or mauve belt is an interesting thought too. Different shoes would be more conventionally flattering, but I was keen to experiment with the sneakers so I wanted to embrace them...
I will ponder it some more.

I Like this look on you Jussie - it looks sporty and fun. I wear my sneakers with my denim skirts (in finds). I usually wear t-shirts as toppers just to keep the look casual.

Use to frequently wear casual dresses with sneakers for work.

One day I lost my mind and wore a dress, sneakers and pearl necklace.....and had to call on a law office. After that the legals would call the office and ask to speak with “sneakers and pearls”. Everyone knew who they meant- lol

I think the top is throwing it off a bit for me. That's not to say I dont like what you're doing here, because it's cute and fresh.

I think a top that picks up the swimming pool blue (turquoise?) In the print or the even the burgundy would be really cute. I circled the colors I'm talking about so you didn't have to search or guess which ones I were jumping out at me LOL

Thanks very much for looking! I appreciate your fab feedback. Cindysmith, I like your idea of trying out one of the brighter colours from the print on top. I do have a couple of options that could work, I hadn’t even thought of that so thanks! The chambray shirt does flatten/dull the look a bit. Angie yes in hindsight I could’ve gone down a size but in a way I kinda like it slouchy but I hear you. Bijou sneaks with a denim skirt is a fab idea! Why didn’t I think of that??

Super cute! I like the chambray shirt, but do think it is a tad big, as you said. How would it look if you wore a more fitted t shirt and wore the chambray shirt open and untucked like a jacket? I think it might work!

Mainelady: That's a smart idea. It might also add a bit more interest to the top half of the outfit, because at the moment it's all "party down the bottom" and not much visual candy up the top.
