WIW: Portland mini-meet 8/16 - YouLookFab Forum

So yay, got to meet Cerinda and K. Period. yesterday and checked out some fun local boutiques! We did, by the way, notice a little forest green (and variants thereof) nudging its way into some of the collections.

May I also say, despite all the temptations, that we were all successful at remaining Ascetic on that fine August afternoon.

Also, K. introduced me to the wonders of the gibassier pastry, which includes olive oil, fennel, and candied orange peel. YUM. Should have taken a pic o' that! Next time.

So, then, a quick WIW:

Vera Wang for Kohl's tee (from 2012 I think?)
Old Navy Rockstar skinnies in French gray
Shelly's London boot/sandals
sterling earrings and bracelets (all garage sale/flea market)
sterling ring with orange stone (not really visible in pic :P)

I so have to practice photo faces...I'm sure I was reacting to something about the dear husband, who was behind the camera this time. Anywayy...

Yes! You looked fantastic. :). It was lovely to meet you and C. In person. And I'm glad you enjoyed the pastry. I love them. Besides, it coordinated so well with your outfit! What's not to love about that?

Sounds fun and I love the Klimt aspect of the top. Oh and I just love those shoes on you! How did they hold up during the meet up? Were the heels manageable?

@CocoLion, thanks! I loved the painty things that were all over the place a few years ago...and I'm seeing them pop up a bit again now. Yes, the shoes were good--I definitely go for a stouter, more stable heel these days if I do them at all (frankly, I've preferred the look of chunkier heels for decades anyway!), and I find these relatively comfortable for the height they are. I will say though that because of the way they're constructed, I can imagine that they could be tricky to fit some foot shapes/volumes and there are no US half sizes. I had to size down to a UK 3, which fortunately happened to fit me exactly--I'm usually a US 5.5 in sandals.

I hadn't thought to associate good old Gustav with the painty squares tee, but it certainly makes sense--good eye! I've been away from my ol' art history degree for a while.
