Dang. photos make me mad sometimes.

So normally today is a working day but the little one still has a cough and fever so I stayed home today ( hubby and I have been alternating days off).

We went to the pediatriican and ran some errands including getting her some frozen yogurt for having a nasty wire stuck up the back of her nose to get a sample. poor brave girl: she howled. something she never does!

Anyway: emerald green with white polyester blouse
wit and wisdom jeans
nude ballet flats ( super comfy- kelly and katie via dsw)
hoop earrings
tribal bracelet ( wood)

I think if the shirt had rounded edges it would look better. The way it pulls across my abdomen is not flattering. It is a super comfy shirt though. Toss or not?

I'm a little frustrated. I tried a bunch of new looks this week and feel so so about all of them. I think its bebe being sick that also affects my mood you know. It would be so easy to stick to a tunic and skinny pant formula at a time like this so I commend myself for trying. ( week in review included).

Where is this so-called pulling of the shirt across your tummy? I see NOTHING of the sort! What I see is a stylish woman wearing a beautiful colour for her in a flattering blouse with lovely polka dots!

As for your other looks this week, I loved your denim outfit in pic #6 (will be copying that as I had stated in the thread) and am in love with your outfit in #7 (also stated in that thread). The only one I'm not keen on in is #5. As far as I'm concerned, you have had a STELLAR week and need to stop being so hard on yourself!

You're probably tired from bebe being sick and you just starting to feel better yourself. You're beautiful Sona - now just believe it!

About the clothes, I love the green and white top on you. I think the fit and color are flattering.

I know what you mean, though, about being frustated with trying things on.. After losing a bunch of weight last year, I've gained some of it back, and feel "yucky" no matter what I put on. I'm thankful, though, that I'm pretty healthy, so that's what I've got to remember. Hoping you find some fab clothes, soon!

I agree with Shannon. I love #7 and think polka dot top fits you well and looks really nice. I also didn't see a problem with the denim shirt. I think like many women, you have difficulty seeing the beautiful because your eyes are immediately drawn to what you perceive to be flaws that the rest of the world doesn't notice.

You really are a beautiful woman Sona. Just look at Pic #3 and how beautiful you look with your hair pulled back by the glasses. The shape of your face is beautiful and you have lovely features.

OK, first off, I see NO problem with the shirt! It's very flattering and I love the color on you. However, if you're not feeling the hem, what about tucking with it, now that you have stuck your toe into the tucking pool?

Totally agree with Shannon - I love all of these except #5, which I am on the fence about. Beautiful green and white blouse in today's WIW!

LOVE the shirt! Polka dots and such a pretty color on you! May I ask where you purchased it? I am looking for a blouse that will look good with pants and skirts and that one is darling! As far as how we feel about our perceived figure flaws....we are always our harshest critics. You are lovely and wear your clothing with true style!

I feel so unoriginal, but I'm with the pack on this. I love them all (green dots? looks great!) except for #5. I think is missing a structured element to give it... I guess structure! #7? That is fan-dib-a-dozzy-tastic!

TS,Dianthus, Makrame: I agree 5 is just not doing me justice. I am going to thrift the shirt and go for a more structured top next time around with the mint pants.

Dianthus: thank you for your comment. Its funny yesterday despite being tucked in and all I thought hey my face looks oval with nice bone structure but hubby's first comment was " wear some lipstick". I am trying to let my inner contentment wth my looks play out and not let externalities matter as much. But wearing what suits my figure is also very important ot me so I agree I think I'll pass on the upper part of # 5.

Jilly: I have a fantastic wardobe I truly do believe: it just needs curating now. I don't really need to find external items but be more discerning about what stays in my wardrobe.

Meredith: the shirt is susan graver QVC. I leave no retail stone unturned!

Erm... I see no pulling either! In fact, the polka dot outfit is my fave of the bunch! I think you are right that your emotions are affecting how you see these outfits - please continue to experiment, because I love where you are going. The tuck - your other big step - is my second fave.

I adore the polka dots -- this is a great look for you. From a style perspective, I might prefer a rounded bottom, but it's not a figure flattery issue in my opinion. Such a marvelous color!

7 is just beyond stunning -- it's phenomenal in flattery and style. The only one I'm not loving is #5, and it's far cuter than a lot of my combinations!

Ditto everything Beth Ann just said! Also, remember that loose, voluminous tops look much more fab and elegant IRL typically than they do in pics. What can look boxy and just big in pics looks flowy and fab IRB lots of times.

I hope you don't venture away from the new shapes and combinations of this week - I know the top in 5 wasn't the best but the others are good and just new silhouettes for you. Perhaps the tunic with a belt might be better or layer a blazer over the longer top (or a vest) for a more defined waist? Keep playing!
I love the green and polka dots and think you look fantastic today.
Hope DD gets better for the weekend - having a fever is sure no fun.

Sona, I think you've got a bit of DD's malaise and it's warping your perspective. First off, #7 is OFF THE CHARTS. #6 is a FAB MOTG outfit. And the outfit you wore today is another fab MOTG outfit - LOVE the polka dot shirt! You are just being way too hard on yourself! Stop it right now.

I think you had a week of great looks and the polka dot shirt looks lovely on you the vibrant green is perfect for you complexion. Hope you and bebe are feeling better soon. But I have to say even though you are suffering from anaemia & not feeling well you still look beautiful.

Sona, I strongly suspect --- even though your beautiful features bely this by appearing fresh as a daisy --- that you're missing some R&R rather than roaring good stylishness. Because the latter you've exhibited in spades this week.

The only logical conclusion for feeling less than fab in clothes that feel super comfy and that others are head-over-heels in love with on you... is that your mind is playing tricks. And as a medical professional, you *know* the brain will do that when it's taxed or feeling stretched too thin.

Give *yourself* a nice warm hug, a mug of hot chocolate and a good long soak, as well as DD. Really, my non-fashionable conclusion is that you just need to *feel* fine. Because you're looking just great.

[For the record, I will have *arrived* in my style journey the day I manage to put together a week like that, thanksverymuch!]

Oh, Sona, I'm sorry your little one is not feeling well lately. That's always stressful!

I'm also sad that you can't appreciate how lovely you look in all of these outfits. If you stand still too long, I might steal that green polka-dotted shirt right off your back. It's fabulous!

Good for you at trying some new things! You might just need a little time for your eyes to adjust to this.
