WIW: Plaid and camel

Not and overly Spring-like outfit, but we are back to cold winds and overcast skies unfortunately. I have a couple of client fittings today, so I went for a smart-ish look and donned a self made skirt and top to advertise my wares as it were Both are pieces you've seen before, but not in this combination I don't think. Also, I didn't fancy nude hose today and chose patterned semi sheer black tights instead, so I hope the bottom half doesn't read as too dark.

Comments and suggestions welcome as always.

Beautiful self-made items, the sweater is particularly cool. The sheer hose works well to lighten the look up just a bit ^^

Diane, glad you're feeling so much better. This is a fab outfit! Your top is of course a perfect fit - I love the slanted hemline and the little side splits. Bottom half not too dark at all, since your hose are sheer. I love that your skirt contains both the camel of your top and the black of your hose and footwear - it makes for a cohesive look, and a great advertisement for your handiwork (But yes, where did the Spring weather go?)

Great outfit. And may I say, I would love to steal your shoe collection? Seems like we have similar taste and comfort needs. I'm checking out this brand now as I have never tried them on. I'm thinking of adding some camper or pikolinos for the summer. Any other recommendations? I find due to my location in Latin America it's easier to find Spanish (especially) brands sometimes.

What a fantastic self-made outfit. I like the modern shape and style of the pullover with the more traditional looking plaid skirt. The booties and tights lend a little edge.

Love how vibrant this is despite a neutral color scheme! Booties and hi-lo hem on the sweater are sharp, then the plaid and the patterned tights are so rich together!

Glad you like the shoes ABC. I did have the heel lowered by 1/4" on these beauties though. Pikolinos are great boots too, but occasionally a bit wide. I can't recall other Spanish brands, but I can vouch for Lamica(Italian) and Tamaris(the blue shoes I wore last week, German made I think.) and Bruno Premi (also Italian)

Many of us struggle with camel color, but it's brilliant on you! What a great outfit; I really like the neckline of the sweater and your choice of patterned tights--they hint toward spring even if the weather isn't cooperative.

ABC, bear in mind that I'm in the UK so I don't know how widely available those brands are. I got them all from Euro websites, like Zalando and Sarenza. April from the forum kindly shipped over the Fidjis from the US for me a year or so ago.

Great outfit, I love your handiwork! The boots look really sharp (as in stylin', although they are pointy too, lol) also.

(Gets me thinking...why aren't there more square necklines around, they can be really flattering and less expected than a curved shape).

Yes, Rabbit, I love a square neck and you're right...come to think of it I haven't seen many about. My go to necklines are round, scooped, square or asymmetric. I'm not that into v necks at all.
