WIW: Pink slouchy pants! Opera Soirée vs All That Jazz

I LOVE my new pink slouchy pants! I tried the Ann Taylor ones and liked them, but they wrinkled like crazy, so that was a deal killer. Plus I wasn't crazy about the color choices of beige or Halloween orange.

Then I tried the Classiques Entier fuchsia ones, and it was true love! They're cuffed ankle length, so no slouch at the ankles, but I like the length, and I think it works.

The first time I wore them was to an evening of opera at my brother-in-law's house: six up-and-coming young opera singers performed in their living room to an audience of only about 50 people. It was incredible. In attendance was the illustrious baritone Sherrill Milnes, for any of you who know opera.

In contrast, we just went to a local performance of a fantastic jazz saxophonist, Joshua Redmond, and I wore the same pants, but wanted a little bit more of an edgy look.
I wore the pink pants with a black asymmetrical top and a leather moto jacket.

Oh my...I love these on you Parsley. What a gorgeous colour! I love them with the white jacket, so very crisp looking. And I can't help but notice your toe polish matches the pants! I also really like the look with the moto jacket and the animal print wedges - edgy and fun!

Wowza! You look positively radiant here Marcy! I'll bet everyone was frantically taking style notes. I love the two distinct looks you were able to get out of these trousers. I love the shade of pink and the pleats are so much fun. Those are some fab leopard wedges and I love the asymmetric neckline of your black top! Woo-hoo, you rock!

I love this look! I have those pants as well, and I always like the black and white combination with them. I would have never thought to do the leopard heel, so cute.

Those are terrific with the cuff at bottom. Fun looks - the white jacket and the black top both are on the edgy side.

FABULOUS pants --- with just the right amount of 80s-esque slouch and swank! I ADORE the black, white and Schiaparelli pink combination. And I love your wedges --- so cool to wear tortoise on your toes, instead of your hair (which is what I typically see here at least).

ETA: Also love the sharpness of your white jacket and the asymmetric line of your black top! How good you look in those geometric lines too! So much for leaving the sharp lines and angles to rectangular bods, eh, and sticking curves and draping on curves? Traditional wisdom has something to learn from you

Gorgeous! I love the combo with the white blazer especially. You look dazzling! Great color and contrast. It's very striking. The black asymmetric neckline top is stunning as well. Love your new slouchy pants : ) I like the way you have the hem of the top hiked up a bit--it lengthens your leg line.

The color is gorgeous and the outfit 1 is just beautiful. The jacket really glances the pants and the proportions here are perfect

#2 is also lovely and you created a re edgy look that really suits the night's event. I really like that you have been able to create two very different looks from a garment that has quite a bit of personality in it's own right.

Thanks for the tip, along with the WIW! These are terrific! Yes, I do know who Sherrill Milnes is and I love house concerts. A lot of classical vocal music (German Lieder and French art song, in particular) was written to be sung in home "salons." Glad to you enjoyed it and J. Redmond! You certainly look wonderfully festive!

Nicole- I suppose the wedges don't exactly "go" with this, but I always think of them as neutral, so I wear them with almost anything.

Beth Ann- I figured you'd probably know who Sherrill Milnes is. He wasn't singing, but these were some of his protégés. This was sort of a fundraiser for his organization that helps develop young opera singers.

Wow, love it! I was tempted to try the blue version, but then saw that color is not on sale. Oh well, living through you! Both looks are wonderful - who knew bright pink sloughy pants would be so versatile?

Love the edgy look of the pink pants and they look great with the white jacket. I would like to copy that 1st look if only i could wear heels. I like the Ann Taylor top in #5. Great look in all the pictures so put together from head to toe.

Beautiful pants on you! I love the color and the way you transformed it from elegant in the first pics to edgy and rock and roll for the second event. I am also truly envious that you were in the same room as Sherrill Milnes. I swoon every time I hear him do the friendship duet "au fond du temple saint" from Les Pecheurs de perles. Our local opera company did that at our Puccini Martini Blast that I attended in the fall.

I was so aggravated when I saw the pink ones were half off, because I had JUST paid full price. But Yay for Nordies! I called them and they gave me the price adjustment!
Meredith- I knew a few people would know SM. He's in his 70s now, but still VERY dashing, handsome and charming. I was rather star-struck!
