WIW: pink and white and ikat - YouLookFab Forum

This Casual Friday outfit felt like it expressed the style I'm still trying to discover: clean and classic but with a countercultural touch, in this case an ikat weave scarf. High happiness factor!

I don't know if the denim jacket was a successful addition, but it did keep me warm in the AC.

I was trying to tie the scarf in a way that didn't emphasize its length and narrowness. When I got to work I retied it so it wasn't as long (pic 3). It was funny--I've worn this scarf for three summers. But for the first time people complimented it all day. I think it's because I tied it better (instead of a Euro loop or something similar).

Any thoughts on what I could have worn instead of the denim jacket? Any other feedback welcome.

I really like the denim jacket with this outfit!
The scarf is a lovely addition too.
I am finding with the semi-tuck that showing only the buckle has more of an elongating effect. Also that I am the only one semi-tucking where I live

I also like the denim jacket and I agree, the way you tie a scarf can make a big difference. I still battle to get it just right sometimes.

You are tres adorable in this. I love the semi-tuck, scarf and fab footwear. I think the denim jacket is perfect. You could try a blazer but sometimes the collar interferes with the scarf.

You look beautiful, Adelfa. I love the sandals as a modern finish, and I think the denim jacket is perfect. If you'd like to try something more "work" oriented, I've found that dark jackets, in this case, navy or black, looks great with white jeans.

I think the way you wore your scarf made it more contraculture than an euro knot and that is why people noticed more.
