Spring has sprung, so no more layered up sweaters for me (probably). I'm excited to gradually transition my outfits to lighter layers or none at all. Comments & critiques welcome, and thanks for stopping by!

You have such a defined sense of your own style. I really like the outfits with the long maxi skirt and the ones with that greenish top.

Spring has sprung here too, but I'm sort of in denial. I love winter too much for it to be over in February!

I'm excited to see your new pieces though. Is the topper in 4 a vest or a short sleeved jacket? Either way I love the shape & big buttons & gorgeous neckline: just perfect for you. That striped skirt is great fun too! And you always carry off your maxi with such panache.

I am so envious of those who are experiencing spring. It's snowing here!

You seem to know well what works on you, so congrats on that.
I would say that you might think about adding some more colour in for spring. Other than the green top, everything looks very dark and autumn coloured. Perhaps some accessories in more springy tones would make the look see a bit more welcoming of the season?
Love the maxi as well.

Thank you, Sara L. & E! The topper in #4 is a portrait collar, 3/4 sleeve swingy jacket made of velvet. The neckline is wider than shown as I have another shirt on for warmth. Here's a picture of it w/o the layer, if that helps.

The skirt is brown/white pinstripe, but reads as gray from a distance, I think; anyhow, I'm figuring out how to integrate it. I think it'll work as both gray and brown (for brown toppers)

Thank you for your advice, Sunee! I'm a warm autumn according to 12-season theory, so I don't really dress for spring. Some cream or peach might lighten it up.

I love the idea of adding some creme into the mix! Great skirt and how great for Spring temps.. We have a reprieve for a few days with temps in the high 60's today...

Cream would be lovely added to your mix to lighten things...if it is do-able with your wee one, that is. It might not be the most practical at this time of life.

Thank you, TraceyLiz65 & Suz. I don't mind cream - cream tops are always a staple, and a light colored bottom (or two) in summer a must. Right now they feel too summery for the weather, however.

With your complexion I think a touch of coral or peach, even in an accessory, would be beautiful. Love your new velvet jacket, and love the picture you posted further down the thread of you wearing it with the gray skirt and tall boots - I like that that outfit has a more modern silhouette, but it still clearly fits with your look/style.

I love the outfit posted further down with the velvet jacket. I like it much better then with the maxi skirt which I think overwhelms the jacket.

Thank you, Rabbit & Alee! The skirt is actually a very dark brown, and I'm 34 weeks pregnant.

MuseumGal, I buy my clothes because I am easily frustrated when sewing. I tend to source my clothes via EBay/Twice Clothes (online consignment)/sales.
