WIW: Outing to a local venue

After not going out for a long time, I ventured out with a friend to see an old DC local band (Ubangis) play at Slash Run close to home. I had never heard of them considering they’ve been around since the 80’s DC punk scene. They also reminded me of 60s surf sound and the Strays Cats of the 80s. They sounded great and we danced the night away, well until 11:30 which was way past my bedtime. LOL.

Here’s what I wore. Everything I own is quite a few years old except the blazer specs.

Jeans: levi’s
shirt: Franz Ferdinand concert tee
blazer: Loft
Booties: Unisa

Sally - Thanks. I felt good wearing this outfit. I think I'm going to invest in some more larger blazers because you can dress them down or up.

Janet - Aw thanks. I went short again just recently because I can't manager longer hair and upkeep of dying my hair. I've stopped dying it to see how much gray I have. Also, the eye glasses are awesome in your tone. Great minds think alike.

@LJP - Thank you as one short hair fan to another.

@Helena - that's so kind to say. I haven't been feeling "cool" these days, but I'll take the compliment.

@Lesley, @kkdardsm, and @Rejoiceandbe- check out SEE Eyewear. That's where I usually get my prescription glasses. They have a variety of edgy specs along with some good classics.

@Angie - As always, thank you kindly. I didn't think I could pull off the longer jacket but it seemed to have worked. As for my hair, the gray hairs are out and am okay with it. I will have to see what colors will look on me this Fall and Winter.

@ slim cat - i'm trying to rock that look as much as I can. lol!!

@suntiger - I love my booties, but the heels are getting worn out. Must find another pair.

@Jamie - I tried to grow my hair, but didn't work for me, so it was back to short.

I miss my specs. After cataract surgery I don't need them. I may get some with plain glass just to wear them for the look.

Hi! I'm new, don't comment/post much, but I wanted to pop in to say I love your outfit! I'm digging the band tee with blazer combination, and I really love your glasses! I'm also from DC and I've seen the Ubangis a few times - they're always a lot of fun. We considered going to that show at Slash Run, in fact. Maybe we'll run into each other at a DC venue sometime.
