WIW out to dinner with my bff

This is what I wore to dinner last night. Three new items!

* Sundance ombre dot silk blouse (new)
* White denim
* Pikolinos sandals (new)
* Metallic Coach bag (new from Ebay)

The top is a little sheer, but I went cami-less since it was so hot! Does the metallic bag work with this outfit? I was anxious to use it (such a perfect size for going out), but now I'm not sure it was the right choice.

I think the bag works just fine. And you look lovely, which you always do. :o)

LaFrancaise has got me thinking about silk camis, especially for hot weather. I am never impressed when I know exactly what kind of bra a woman is wearing. I don't know if that applies here, the print providing some camouflage. I'm wearing a transparent print blouse today myself, with a cami on underneath. I might suffer a bit...

Fun bag choice and it works well with the outfit/colors. Nice breezy blouse and summery white jeans (mental note to make myself wear mine. . .)

I feel the sheer blouse conundrum - a base layer heats up my torso and defeats the breezy blouse purpose. Your print seems to have minimized the see-thru.

Maybe I'm just not using the 'right' camis and if I go for the silk (ala Francaise it would work. . .

Anyway, back to your lovely outfit Hope you had fun too!

You look delightfully breezy. Love the choice of bag here. How are the Pikolinos sandals breaking in?

I hear you on the sheer top conundrum. If it's unbearably hot, coolness is my priority and I do go cami-less. I find that a beige bra that matches the skin tone well is virtually invisible under all but the most transparent tops. Some people may be less comfortable with that amount of exposure, but we all have our own limits and standards.

Love! This is a terrific outfit and I'm so glad you kept this top! (it was my personal favorite of all the ones you posted the other day). I think the bag works just fine. A lighter colored bag would work well also in keeping the "breeziness" of the rest of the outfit. From what I can see in the photos, the top might be sheer but not *too* sheer. Those white jeans are great on you and I really like the sandals!

You were made for jeans! I think the bag looks great with this outfit, and I love it, period. As for the top, this is a problem I've often encountered myself. I think the print mitigates the potential problem.

Thanks, everyone. I am so glad I kept this blouse, too, Christy. Even though it's sheer, the pattern does mitigate the see-through issue...like many of you said. I probably wouldn't wear this for teaching but it's fine for casual wear.

The Pikolinos gave me slight blisters on the heels the first day, DJ, but overall they are ridiculously comfortable. I'm finding them very useful for summer.

I love this Nancylee! I wish I could get my legs to look that long in white denim. The metallic bag is the perfect fun touch for going out. I could also see it working with very casual jeans and a blazer, to dress up the RATE denim.

Your headline gave me an unexpected smile ... I do know what bff means, however, at work it is a key abbreviation and means, "basket of french fries" in kitchen lingo. As in, bff asap!
