WIW. Out to a lecture.

I like the colour of my blue sweater (or jumper as I call it) but feel it looks very casual. This outfit was an attempt to smarten it up a little with a jacket and boots.

Any comments or criticism welcome

Adding structure that way is straight out of Angie's advice archives, and it looks great. I like that the collar of the jacket accommodates the cowl neck.

I did read the archive (such as it was in 2006 or 2007) at first, but have been reading the blog since some point in 2007. Initially I could keep up with the forum too, but no longer. I've had some forum breaks but not usually longer than a week break from blog reading.

However I'm much better at reading than responding - not great at typing if a keyboard isn't handy, not great at decisive advice, too prone to overthinking, and (this is just me, and I'm probably in the minority here, just as I am by not liking shopping) I'm not that good at processing lots of pictures.

I often wish I could be a better forum particpant and have considered dropping out completely, but Angie has always been encouraging of people participating at whatever level.

Wow - high praise from Angie - thanks so much (and for the influence on me with the lighter colours and the white!) It's been so rainy here that I haven't worn the white jeans as much as I should have liked, so I grab opportunities like this when it's dry.

I can see how this sweater might look sort of ski-lodge casual worn on its own. Nothing wrong with that, but the jacket smartens it up nicely for environment. Clever!

Don't you have blue eyes? I'll bet the color of that sweater really brings them out. The structure of the jacket definitely bumped the dressy factor up a notch for this outfit.

You look beautiful in this, the blue jumper is a wonderful colour on you. I have been looking for a blue jumper this winter, and have been amazed at how most knitwear this season is so very dark. I love light colours in winter, when the sky is dark and grey, I need brightening up with what I wear...

Thanks Bijou - I got this one from Target, and I fear it isn't durable. I have seen a few other blue jumpers around though. Totally agree about brightening up.

Participate when you can. I do a 2:00 am which seems to be my free time.

I like the white with the blue. For me the neckline of the collar would be in direct competition with the neckline of the jacket. I love a good cowl neck.

Oh RL, I never answered that. Last winter or the one before. I just was replacing one that had started to crack up. I've found pleather does that every 5 years or so.
