WIW: Out Comes the Poncho - YouLookFab Forum

Our grey Seattle Fall is perfect for ponchos right now, so of course I want to live in mine. Alas, I need to mix up my looks, so once a week is the most I'll probably wear it out. Still happy I bought it last year, even though the CPW is high. Felt kinda risky mixing plaid and floral, but I think it worked. Oh, and new grey boots for this season are a dream for striding around the city in cold/wet. High happiness factor!

Oh, wowzer! I love the floral hem on the sweater mixed with the fabulously fitting plaid pants. The poncho is the icing on the cake. Love it!

That poncho is stunning on you and well worth a splurge because you will have it for years. I have a poncho that is so useful when travelling, particularly on long haul flights and takes up minimal packing room. I really love the outfit underneath too!

This is one of your best. I love the skinny plaid pants, the top is lovely, the boots are awesome and the poncho works amazingly well on you. I am glad you don't have more pieces because I am running out of adjectives to describe how much I like this outfit on you. I really wanted to try a poncho too but didn't feel I could carry it off well so am a touch envious.

I love this! I think the pattern mix works because the top is not all-over pattern.

Confession: I've been kind of intrigued with the whole cape/poncho thing lately. I saw one I liked in Lord & Taylor the other night, and on sale, so I bought it. It will be interesting to try styling it. Since it has a hood, I felt a little like I belonged in Middle Earth in it, but that's not necessarily an entirely bad thing. Now if we would just get some sub-80 degree weather here!

Love the subtle, autumnal pattern mixing, as well as the rich drape of the poncho. Wonderful look for you! I run warm, so I think I could wear a poncho as a topper on all but the coldest days in your climate. I wonder how they work for getting in and out of car. And what does one do about a bag?

Hello I am a new member and excited to be here. Still trying to find my way around here.....but then the word "poncho" popped up and I knew here is the place to be, fabulous fashionistas! Great and subtle choice thats why it works I think. Plaid pants are wonderful. Sooo wants some. I cannot get eniough of capes myself.

This looks amazing on you. The combination of the poncho and boots with those plaid pants is PERFECT. And I remember how Seattle cold just seeps in under your skin, until you step into a coffee shop or restaurant and are blasted with warm, moist air. The poncho is a perfect piece for your climate.

I like this! I think the mixing actually makes the outfit friendlier and more of a crowd pleaser. You look great, there's something for everyone, and because everything is seasonally appropriate it's a very practical, wearable looking outfit.

BethAnn - This one is no prob in the car, and I typically carry a satchel or clutch. The other option is a small crossbody underneath where it won't ruin the lines of the poncho, as they tend to do. Really, you could also carry a shoulder bag underneath, if sized right. A multitude of sins can be hidden there
