WIW: Orange tunic and leggings

I love orange. Angie's recent orange and burgandy post and the recent spring temps got me in the mood to pull out my orange things.

This orange tunic.. Le sigh. It's my favorite shade of orange, almost deep red-orange. Persimmon maybe? It's got red to it, and is deeper with some saturated punch to it. I found it for $5 at Ross. The fabric is this silky rayon jersey. The deep armholes make it cool in hot weather, and I especially love the waist tie and cascading ruffly things the sleeves do. (Which I realize you can't see in the photo. :/ )

I always pair it with leggings. It's too short for a dress--at least for me.

This season I have been leaning more towards glamorous looks, less ethnic bohemian. I don't know if this tunic fits the Sophia Loren/Rita Hayworth vibe I've been doing more of. But its still a favorite

Low makeup today--just some bronzer and threw on bracelets. Sorry for the quick photo. I was dashing this morning to make work on time.

I like it! Lovely boho pattern, and good accompaniments with the leggings and sandals. I adore orange but have a hard time wearing it near my face, but always keep an eye out for items in a saturated deep orange color.

Shevia, well you inspire me, my beautiful thrifting friend! Thrifting, which I used to do all the time, is more limited and difficult where I now live. So I look for bargains when I shop I love your category!!! Boho/glam/pin-up says it all

Rabbit, I think everyone has a difficult color to wear. Mine is yellow. I have the hardest time wearing yellow. Perhaps because I haven't found the right shade? Orange is my yellow. I mostly only wear it in spring/summer. I have this thing about wearing certain colors and saturations for certain seasons, or weather. If I lived in a warmer climate I don't know that I would wear my winter shades (plums, greys, dark greens) much at all. I'm a bit nutty eh?

Deborah, I am glad that it looks modern! I had more of the ethnic or festival hippie look last year and decided that while it is a small part of me, it felt too grunge/dirty to be more of my wardrobe. So I kinda shelved it for a while.

Daria, well I live in the mountains. I wear them when I can! Last Thursday we got 10" of snow. Then it was sunny and 55. And today and tomorrow it's forecasted to rain/snow. I'm constantly switching between boots and sandals. And hoping it doesn't snow again.

jackiec, we are twinsies! I don't know why, but I really do wear clothes based on seasons.

textstyle, I don't know why my bargains turn into favorites. Perhaps because I can relax in a $5 dress and not feel like life is over if it gets snagged or ruined. And thus, I end up relaxing and living in the clothes. I don't always do that with a more expensive item. And maybe the lower price endears it further to me? I don't know. But generally my most loved items cost me very little. Which is weird, because I adore high fashion and expensive designer labels.
