WIW: Orange and gold

Thought I 'd try to get back tot he occasional WIW. Not sure on these proportions, but the colors were fun to put together. J. Crew merino tunic, June & Hudson skirt (CHEAP!), and Born shoes.

The shoes are so disappointing - after two wears the mirror finish has scuffed off to white! It can't be polished as the finish is actually off. Do you think Nordie's would accept a return?

I think the proportions are good and the colours are wonderful! From all I hear of Nordies I would say defifnitely contact them. What has happened with your shoes it not acceptable. I think you should be able to return them.

The orange sweater looks smashing on you! I think you should try to return - it is a quality issue and I think they should take them back.

Ooh, I like the outfit. The skirt brand is new to me. I need to check it out.
I have Born leather sneakers in an odd gold-brushstrokes-over-nickel finish. The gold brushstrokes are mostly gone and the finish has scuffed down to white in places. My shoes are super casual, and I've worn them a lot, so I don't mind the RATE effect. I bet Nordstrom is getting other complaints.

Definitely return the shoes...can you imagine how they will look with multiple wearings...

Ugh, I am heartbroken about the shoes, because they look so damn cool as a nude for you! Baaaah!

But I had a similar problem with my Gentle Souls sandals - patent peeled off after two wears. They took 'em back without blinking.

Sorry to be a spanner, Una. I find the top a little long and big for the skirt, which has a lot to do with the high contrast between the top and bottom. Can you semi-tuck the top to shorten the length?

Nice combination of colors here between the top and skirt! Regarding the shoes, that's unacceptable and you should definitely return them. That's too bad, because I'm a sucker for a shiny shoe, and these are such a cool color.

Angie, I was concerned about the proportions. This skirt can't be tucked, even partially, because it is so stretchy and shows every bump, including anything tucked. Plus it may be too va-voom? I am not great with proportion as you know.

Will take back the shoes. This is not RATE scuffing, This is the finish coming off completely exposing white underneath in big patches. GRRRR. Thanks for the support.
