What I Might Wear -
I have been trying to mix up some outfits and most of the time I am just not sure about what I come up with. Should I go out of the house with this on tomorrow? Suggestions for improvement are always welcome

I think it would look a lot more streamlined without the scarf. Can we see a pic of that? I do love scarves but it seems like too much volume or layers here.

Raisin, I already took off the outfit for tonight - not sure if I'll wear it, or a version of it, tomorrow.
When I looked at the picture (I had already changed by then) I also thought it might look better without the scarf - in the photo, I thought the scarf looked bulky, even though it didn't feel that way when I had it on.

Ok, I'm interested to see how it goes tomorrow, sans scarf. It could look good with the cardigan belted too. If you still feel there's too much volume.

I like the black, grey, and cobalt blue together. I agree with others that it might look a little better (although it looks good now) without the scarf.

This is a good choice, Karie. I agree that the scarf seems good, but not perfect. It could be that the light color is grabbing the flash, and it might blend more in daylight. You've tied the scarf beautifully and it's a lovely item.

I adore the smashing cobalt color of the skirt with the dressy boots. I second the idea to try the cardi belted, if you have a black belt on hand.

You have a good eye for clothing items --- it seems like you're really focusing on how they work together in a way that makes you really happy, and that always pays off. Don't be afraid to try things out --- the camera and the forum are both great tools, but ultimately it's about having fun with fashion and honing your own instincts.

The scarf is lovely on its own but somehow overpowers this outfit. I go through this my scarves all the time. I am a big scarf person and like to wear them with all my outfits but when I see myself in pics, sometimes I find the scarf does not look that good.

For me, it's either scarf or the cardigan. I also suggest trying to tie the scarf some other way to appear less bulky if the fabric allows it, or perhaps it wouldn't look bulky without the cardigan - it's hard for me to tell now. Either way, I love the colors here and you have a lot of possibilities to play with.

Thank you all, you have give me some great ideas to play with! Both the scarf and cardi are light weight, so I will try belting the card / tying the scarf a different way / leaving off one or the other.
lyn67, the skirt is new this fall from JC Penney. It has become one of my wardrobe favs, it's a nice weight fabric, lined, very comfortable to wear as it doesn't shift around when I walk and I love the length for work.

I love the color palette a strong color with soft neutrals like gray and white juxtaposed with a hard neutral like black. I really like the softness of the scarf paired with a strong, bold statement like cobalt. I am biased in favor of the white edge on the sweater and I love how the scarf picks that up so that the white trim is fully incorporated in the outfit. The black boots and tights ground the look beautifully. I have no complaints.

The only thing missing to me is a defined waist but I don't think it is necessary or required for this outfit to work. I just have a preference for waists.

Love the colour combination and that skirt is divine! I would like to see it without the scarf and the sleeves scrunched up on the cardigan.I think the outfit has great potential and I wouldn't give up on it yet.
