WIW: open or closed?

I never wear blazers closed but today I did. I still think the front view is cuter with it open. But the side view is never very nice with an open blazer, at least not on me!

What do you think? Open or closed?

And do the cognac booties work with this outfit?

My category choice is missing as I vote: Either!

I think the curves from unbuttoned blazer create a lovely side view.

ETA I like to cognac booties; what are your concerns?

I think either works, but have a slight preference for the open because it show more of the stripe.
Also loving the boots. The color and the toe!

Both work but I prefer closed. And the booties are fine, they are a deeper cognac so I think they work with dark wash skinnies.

I prefer open. I kind of feel like people are generally only going to see the side view in passing, so I don't worry about it too much. And also, the side view looks fine with it open!

I feel like open is a fresher look - closed reminds me of Stacy and Clinton insisting that "the girls" be "locked and loaded" some years ago, and I feel like I'm over that. YMMV, of course.

And in my view, cognac booties are the perfect footwear for just about anything!

I think you look fantastic either way! Those cobalt pants are brilliant on you. And I love the cognac booties. They are integrated with the belt and connect to your hair. Fab outfit either way.

Suz, I am still getting used to the idea that cognac may bookend my hair as well as or better than black--my natural shade is very dark brown, but now I have highlights!

Denise, Diane, Amy, and kkards--I think this may be the first time I've ever left the house in a buttoned blazer! Ever! So it was fun for a change.

Both ways look great to me, but I noticed (and identified with) your expression in the 4th picture. Really the side view open looks good, but I do know that feeling!
