WIW: Oops! Black Turned Out to Be Navy

I've had this shirt for over three years, and I swear the plaid looks black in my house. But today which is bright and sunny, I looked down while riding in the car and saw that it was actually black! I can't believe it took me this long to notice. The linen pants are a black stripe, so I guess this will be the last time I wear this combo. Love these pants which just went on sale.

Cute outfit! Coincidentally, I had that happen to me today too--I could have sworn my blouse was navy and peach but it's actually black and peach!

Love the linen pants. I almost bought those in the celery color.

Aw...darn! It's a cute outfit. But it would probably bug me, too, if I'd meant to mix two graphic B&W patterns. I struggled, while shopping the other day, to know which pants on the rack were navy and which were black.

It happens to me. I thought I was replacing black jeans with a new pair of black, but they were a dark navy. I love your outfit and hope that you keep wearing it. People will assume that the tiny stripe in the pants is navy too.

I might wear this outfit again if I knew I wouldn't be outside but would be strictly indoors. At least this wasn't like the time decades ago when I wore one navy pump with one black pump. One of the dangers of duplicating and dressing in my dark house while half awake. In those days I would also have to double check on whether I was wearing black or navy stockings.

So today, I am wearing the reverse print (black with white paint splotches) of the linen T below.

Aquamarine: I am between a P2 and P4 in jeans and pants; sometimes the smaller size will be too small through the hips and the larger size will be too large in the waist. These are a PXS and didn't seem to stretch out. I also ordered PXXS which is arriving today; I know it will be too small. I have these same pants from several years ago. In those days they had a cuff (which I have since taken down). The old pants are PXS and have always fit bigger; I should have sized down (which is why I ordered a PXXS since I am in no way a P00 other than possibly NYDJ).

I think it's a cute outfit. I'm returning some navy sandals that look black to me. Yes, daylight can show the real color, but so often we're not out in the sun (especially when it's so hot!).
