Wednesday my Marine and I drove up to San Luis Obispo and spent the night with his dad and paternal aunt. Thursday we set off bright and early for San Francisco for a little vacation to celebrate his return after two years in Japan with the Marines. We all haven't been together is years and years and we're having a blast!

1/2. Thursday for driving I wanted to be comfy and as it happened, each of these pieces is a low-end find. Bonus photo #2 is an attempt at a WIW with five of the aunt's EIGHT little dogs!

Ombre jeans: Jolt
Cream sweater: H&M
Leopard scarf: Target
Black sandal booties: Payless

3. Yesterday we went to the City Lights Bookstore and the Beat Museum, then down to Fisherman's Wharf. Big fun! It was lots of walking and I was very happy to have my new flat shoes

Olive cargoes: Current Elliott
Striped top: LL Bean
Chambray shirt: Target (boys' dept)
Red plaid scarf: souvenir of Cambodia
White loafers: Munro

4. Today we split up and DS and I went back to the bookstore, then to the Cartoon Art Museum. Tonight we are going to dinner in North Beach.

Skinny jeans: DKNY
Plaid shirt: Target (boys' dept)
Gray sweatshirt: American Apparel
Navy ponte blazer: GAP
Brown boots: Bass

Former husband and sister-in-law went to the DeYoung Museum and brought me a gorgeous solid red scarf that looks just awesome on top of this outfit! (Sorry, no photo!)

5. Bonus pic of my Marine and his aunt in her white skinnies and chambray shirt and awesome oxfords-meet-espadrilles. As you can see, she and I have a very similar fashion aesthetic!

Thanks for looking even though I know it's mostly a repeat of last week. I managed to fit everything in a carry-on bag and I'm finding I could have gotten along with even fewer clothes, I think. This has been a real travel capsule revelation for me.
