WIW: On Trend with Knitwear - YouLookFab Forum

Well, what do you know? I’m doubling up on the knits trend today. It was nice to open Angie’s post today and see that I was already wearing the kind of items she mentioned. I’ve always loved sweaters and cardis and have been adding a few more this year. My goal has been to add longer and more fluid sweaters that I can wear with skinnies and jeggings. I hear Santa is bringing me a couple more I call this cardi my “armadillo” sweater – the neck is and feels oversize and cocoons my neck just so, like an armadillo plate.

Pullover sweater: New Directions (Belk’s)
Armadillo cardi: GAP (last year’s)
Long sleeve tee: GAP Supersoft
Jeggings: Express (navy)
Booties: DV JuJu

I love it! I have been looking for these kinds of items for my own wardrobe--fluid sweaters that aren't too boxy. I actually went to the Belk site to see if they have that sweater in my size, but no luck.

Thank you all for the good feedback! With all these textury sweateres there's always a little thread getting cut on something. I already pulled a thread on the pullover today, but I will fix it right away with a tiny crotchet hook.

Gigi, I see the sweater available in all sizes on the Belk website – they are calling it a sweatshirt (the materials is nothing like a sweatshirt):
"New Directions® Marled Sweatshirt" and it's on sale.

Oh wow! Very cool to layer knits like this. I haven't really done this, but I'm aiming towards a new softer look in 2014 and this I will have to try.

Thanks for checking the site for me, Gracie! Unfortunately, I wear petite sizing--I'm already very short, plus am short waisted on top of that. So I can't wear the misses' sizing. But it was helpful to see a pic of the sweater on the model, because it shows me that what is a very eye-catching sweater IRL can look just so-so on a model. It looks much better on you than on the model! Sometimes I think I miss good items of clothing because the picture of the item on the model is unexciting.

This looks great! The layered sweaters are so clever, and I love how the necklace adds yet another silver/gray tone.
