WIW: On the Orange & Blue bandwagon

I'm loving the orange and blue I've been seeing on the forum today. I pulled out some fall stuff and thought I'd join in the fun. I'm wearing the boots unfolded because I still haven't figured out how to wear these with the lining showing. I think I need blonde highlights or need to knit a cream cap. Suggestions welcome.

Wow, you wear orange so well, Kelly! I love the silhouette here with the roomy jumper and skinny jeans tucked into the black boots (nice way to bookend your hair). Like you I prefer the boots "turned up", it's a sleeker look and I like that. But I really want you to be able to wear the boots both ways. Have you tried them with light bottoms, e.g. white jeans tucked into them?

Wow, this is stunning on you, Kelly! You must wear more orange! You look just spectacular. I love the bright orange with the mid-wash blues. I like the turned up boots best for bookending your pretty hair. Forget the blonde highlights, just go grey like me! No....if you wear a lighter top (or a top with light in the pattern) the turn down will work just fine. No need to use your hair.

Thanks, Inge! I never thought of light bottoms. Perhaps that is the ticket! I wonder what colors might work--I only have white and grey. Will definitely play around with that. Great idea!

You look so pretty in orange - love this combo on you! Those boots are really cute and comfy looking. Not sure how to bookend them, except maybe add a scarf up top or a light vest?

Thanks, Suz. I think I'm a cross between Deep Autumn and some kind of winter as I seem to wear those palettes reasonably well. I think you also have a great point about a lighter top. If my striped sweater (blue/coral/cream) wasn't hanging dry, I would give that a try right now. I don't know why I didn't think of that--just too pre-occupied with wearing orange and blue! Thanks!

Lol--I'll be joining you on the grey bandwagon soon. I'm at about 30% right now (so says the hair dresser.)

Well I love that orange top on you so I wouldn't change a thing. As for the boot cuffs, doesn't your (relatively) light skin count for bookending? That's what my eye went to first when I opened the pics. Also the watch or bracelet you have on is echoing the shearling. Great outfit my fab, boot wearing friend!

Love the look with boots turned down! I must be the odd one! The beige seems to complement the orange so well! You could also try a simple necklace/belt/handbag in beige / cream to bookend your shoes.

Kelly, I really like the boots both ways. That shearling is really appealing as I sit here feeling rather chilly And that orange sweater on you is a wow!

You look great! Pic 1 is a perfect fall outfit. I think rolled-down the boots look more wintery and call for layers or long sleeves on top and pants that at least look like they'd be warm - cords or woolens?

@CC and Beth Ann: Thanks! You know, I kind of thought the same thing--about my face being the bookend but all I saw when I looked in the mirror were the shearling cuffs! I thought the bracelet might help but it didn’t seem like enough.
