WIW: On my own

After a week of dressing like bloggers, I decided that I never want to get dressed without copying a blogger. Then I realized that this was because I'm a style baby and don't know how to dress myself. So I challenged myself to grow up and come up with something on my own today.

And I still managed to put clothes on myself, even without the blogger inspiration!

So here's my, 'I'm a big girl now' outfit. Nothing special, I know, but I'd still love suggestions for improvement - where did I do okay? Where did I screw up?

Oh, and two versions of it (#1 and #3), because I'm clueless about which scarf and shoes look better.....

I really like the boots in outfit 1, because this is a sleeker, more streamlined look with the brown trousers. Fun colour combination too. Scarf 1 works well, and I also love the idea of the larger scarf in outfit 3. How do you feel about trying to tie it differently, so that the ends hang down in the front (just wrap it around your neck once and let the ends hang down? Or perhaps a Euro loop, or the Angie knot?

Thanks Inge - I'm keeping boots #1, and scarf from #3 then (I like my neck warm). The Angie knot seems to work okay. I feel a bit like it covers the yellow top - I'll post another pic if I get a kid to take one

#1 is fantastic! You are a big girl now.

The boots in #3 read gear to me. I think you have to have a certain kind of look to pull these off as a fashion statement, and even then... The scarf might work, but it would have to be tied differently, I think.

Really? #1 works? That was my first attempt, then I started second guessing myself. I'm glad that my first idea works! (But at least until I go out, I'm keeping the scarf from #3 for the warmer neck).

Looks like you're spreading your wings and flying! I really like the combination in #1 - I think these boots work particularly well with the outfit and I have a personal preference for the scarf in this combo.

I like 1 with the scarf from 3. I would tie it differently though. But 1 is perfectly good on it's own also! I think those boots look good with those pants.

You did great!! #1 is terrific. And if you want to play with the scarves (either scarf works great) that is fine, too!
