WIW: On a day off from work

I took today off work as I'm taking my son for his driver's test (gulp!) and running some errands. I'm wearing my Wit & Wisdom skinny jeans, ON striped oversized shirt, orange tee underneath the shirt for modesty coverage, orange Born flats and my camel handbag.

As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Shirt: Old Navy
Tee: Anne Klein (thrifted)
Jeans: Wit & Wisdom
Flats: Born
Handbag: Mondani New York (thrifted)

I'm considering buying another pair of the W&W skinnies as I have never had skinnies (jeans for that matter) fit as well as these do and when they wear out, I may not be able to find good fitting ones again. Would that be sensible or just silly?

Great casual day outfit!! I would duplicate the jeans. I regret not duplicating my Gap jeggings from last year. GAP changed them this year and they are just not the same!!

Yup. Duplicate. Especially with jeans. Anything that hard to fit, when you find it, deserves duplication.

And you look great, by the way!

I love the outfit and another vote for duplicating jeans!
One suggestion- I think that another color bag might work better. Althouh I like this one, the crisp white and red stripes seem to call for a cleaner color- turquoise? Maybe black patent?

It could be the light but I think the camel is a bit too warm. Not that it looks bad, still works but offering suggestions for popping the stripes a bit more.

Jean - the shirt is actually orange and cream, not white. Unfortunately I don't have a turquoise handbag, but what about my kelly green one?

Oh, it makes more sense now that the stripes are off white.
Computer screens are so unreliable for color accuracy.

I love the idea of Kelly green!!

Shannon, this is fantastic! I agree that your kelly green bag will be fantastic with this. (Some of the problem with the colors might be because you're in front of a beige wall. How do I know this, I unwittingly painted every room in my house SSB!)

Anyway, I love your top and the orange T underneath. I've wondered how to wear these sheer shirts the right way, thanks for the example! The Born flats are perfect and you're right, those jeans *do* fit you to perfection. I wouldn't duplicate the jeans unless you depend on them for daily wear. I have a pair I like pretty well, but I didn't duplicate them because I'm sure something 'new' will come out next fall and I'll want that. I usually get bored of a certain look/silhouette after a year or two. Just my 2 cents.

Hope the drivers' test goes well. My oldest will be taking driver's ed in a month or so (yikes!). I agree about buying an extra pair of jeans that fit. I tried to do that with a pair of BR jeans last year, but they only had one pair in my size at the time. Any hoo, you look great - love the orange and cream color combo!

Great outfit! I love the idea of a turquoise bag (if you had one...) and green sounds good, too. Duplicating your jeans sounds like a good idea, but what about SYC??? Or are you trying to sneak that in before May 1st?

Nice, simple, spunky! I agree on duplicating jeans - I rotate my Gap leans (2 pairs) and they don't make the ones I have anymore.

Back from the road test. Unfortunately DS did not pass - he did everything perfectly until he was making a left hand turn onto the highway when some moron sped up and DS had to brake hard to avoid hitting the guy. The instructor said he should have seen him coming - DS explained that he had plenty of time to make the turn until the guy decided to "gun it"...but he was failed anyway. He takes it again in two weeks.

Thanks for the sweet comments about the outfit - I realize you mostly see me in my office attire so this is probably nice for a change. I did switch out the handbag to my green one and it did make the orange stripes pop much better.

Not to worry Jem and Christieanne - I'm still going on SYC as of May 1st but have been thinking about buying a second pair of these for a couple of weeks before they sell out. Will make up my mind later.

Cute outfit! I second Jean's thoughts on the purse, and love the idea of pairing your kelly green purse. I was actually going to suggest you try your green pumps with this, too (but maybe with a different purse hehe)

Perfect casual outfit! Another vote to duplicate the jeans. They are in general difficult to fit so stocking up is the way to go.

Sorry about the test, but 2 weeks is not long to wait (in his life it probably seems like forever I know).

Love the outfit - would copy in a heartbeat. Those jeans look fantastic on you - I'd order up while you can. If you end up not liking them anymore or needing them you can always consign them.

Aida - ooooohhhh the green pumps would look fab with this! But definitely not good "running around shoes" - I'd be hobbling by now after all the walking I did today!

MaryK and Jeanne - thanks for the condolences for DS. He was pretty disappointed but on the way home had the right attitude saying he'd "ace it" next time.

Not only are you a super thrifter but you find the best stuff at Old Navy. I love this look and also vote double up on these great looking jeans.
