It's raining for the first time in MONTHS in Georgia this week, so everything is gray and gloomy. I like the rain most of the time, but I'm a bit sad it's making the gorgeous autumn leaves fall faster from the trees. So I decided that today was the perfect day to pull out my bright orange pashmina scarf.
I paired it with olive green skinny jeans, a black striped white tunic tee, faux leather jacket, black sneakers, and of course, my Handbag of Holding, which is my main handbag right now. The little plushie attached to it is Totoro - - a friend bought him for me when she visited Tokyo during her year in Asia. I put it on my bag the day I first saw her after her return last month and it's stayed there ever since.
Between the scarf and the scarlet Japanese male and the yellow tree in the yard, I feel extremely autumny.
Sterling's neutrals thread and hers and Angie's comments made me think about changes in color preference in general and how until I saw this scarf and HAD TO HAVE IT I never would have chosen to wear orange. I generally prefer cool colors, but I like red and very occasionally I'll see something orange or yellow that makes me smile, and the scarf was one of those things. It's such a wild card for me but it makes me happy every time I wear it.
Do you have ONE item in a color that normally wouldn't be in your palette? What drew you to it?
