WIW: of a conservative nature?

So today I pulled this together without much thought or effort. It was a day where I wasn't much in the mood for dressing (or work) and I am still working out a strategy for my summer work wardrobe. It did occur to me, when I took my WIW pic that this is a fairly classic look - which was interesting considering my post from a few days ago.

The funny thing was when I got to work, I had at least three compliments on my outfit.

YES! it's an easy peasy but always great looking formula, so think others could appreciate it even better than a very fashion forward thing. BTW cardi looks still curent to my eyes:-).

this is totally work appropriate; conservative without being dull because the shapes and lengths are current, and the fit appears to be perfect. you could also change up the look by trying it with different footwear.

Very classic indeed! Think Audrey Hepburn or Jackie O. It also look practical and non-fussy, which is very appealing. I'd say this outfit is a ten, because it is a perfect base for a funky, unexpected accessory, purse or coat.

If I had to change one thing: the bracelet. It's a great stylish idea, but I would go for an even bigger one, or swap it for (faux) pearls.

Sometimes classic and simple let our personalities shine best. Your hair and general coloring are dramatic so you don't really look subdued at all here. No wonder you got compliments!

Not conservative at all, but, as others have said, classic. The outfit looks easy and understated. It would be fun to try more dramatic arm bling with this.

I agree that your hair gives this outfit an extra chic factor. It's simple, classic, and still "you," I think, because of the black and dark gray and the relaxed vibe that the sweater gives.

Thank you for helping me see the light ladies! It's amazing how much clearer you have made things for me. I love the idea of a more statement arm piece and I'm kicking myself for not having worn it with different shoes... Happy to repeat soon with some tweaks!

Also, thank you kindly for the compliments on my hair - I'm particularly enjoying the style at the moment although it's due a cut and some root colour.

It's trial and error and different shoes would just help you edge it up some if that's what your aiming for. I love the idea of arm candy or even an edgy necklace.
