I went to bed at 9pm last night (could not wait to see the end of 2013), and woke at 5am to another warm summer day. I never feel right in casual clothes, but these shorts have been a surprise for me as I really like them when paired with a slightly dressier top. The top is one you have seen before -it is a cacoon shape and I have really enjoyed wearing it even though it doesn't provide a lot of volume at the front.

Hope you all have a great night tonight, and that 2014 is kind to us all.

ETA: Photo that shows my shoes better. I know they are stumpifying, but I love them!

As always, you look fabulous. Really like the necklace - transforms the whole look. I think the "stumpifying" shoes make the whole look a lot edgier - and I like that! Truly hope 2014 is a much better year for you. x

The shorts, the shoes (not stumpifying at all), the necklace all look wonderful. You look terrific in casual clothes! Don't give up! I admire your look so much!

I dont think the shoes are stumpifying at all. The shorts are short enough, if they were longer then maybe leg shortening. Love the outfit you look cool and edgy.

What a wonderful outfit. The shoes are not stumpfying, they say I've got long lean legs that go on forever and nothing can stumpify them!

This is a fun, edgy look. The necklace is a brilliant touch. I think the top works well on you because although it may not provide volume per se, it is cut nicely and drapes well. And I can see why you would like those shorts. I need to consider something similar for our hot weather. I am tired of my "skinny" bermudas -- just bored, the way I get bored of skinny jeans by the end of our winter. Plus looser shorts would be much cooler.

The looser style is definitely cooler. I have some narrow bermuda-style long shorts that have not got a lot of love this summer and I think that is part of the reason. Nothing says summer like being able to feel the sun and the breeze.

I've just done a little snooping and I'm terribly sorry that 2013 was a tough year. I think you have been a warrior woman and I am so impressed by you and all that you've achieved.

Hey Katiepea! It is so good to see you again! Thank you for your kind words. 2013 seemed to be a bad year for a lot of people ( lucky I'm not superstitious) so I'm hoping 2014 is good to us all.
