Gosh, thanks for the nice comments! I was going to edit out the duds but am glad that I left ‘em all in.
@DianeG: DH calls the first one my sailing outfit. He always ask me which port I’m off to when he sees me in it. The color block sandals are an Isola copy by Bandolino. I wasn’t sure how versatile they would be but I’m finding that they are actually pretty easy to style.
@christieanne: thanks! It has been fun playing with the dresses. I tend to live in clams so it’s been a nice change up. I’m glad you see polished and modern. I must be in my “rubric.”
@TS: Thank you. Fun is another one of my style goals : )
@Rae: Thanks, Rae. I’m pleasantly surprised that you like the sweater over dress. I actually loved it but DD#2 didn’t so I was having doubts. To tell the truth, I’m actually having fun. I think not having a strict SYC rule helps. I’m being extra picky when I do shop but I’m not really feeling the urge. I’ve been trying to invent new ways of wearing what I have instead of going for the instant gratification of a new purchase. We’ll see how long this lasts
@fern: Lol! No footwear shortage here. Shoes are my weakness (one of many.)
@Una: Thanks! I don’t think I’m qualified to give any advice So far, not repeating has been pretty easy. Spring/summer is a loooong season for me. By the end of it, I’m ready to throw everything out. My goal is to mix things up instead of wearing my usual half dozen “uniforms” and hopefully not feel compelled to shop (too much) or burn my clothes.
@Denise: Hola, back at you : ) Thank you! I collaged using Pages and iphoto--kind of a pain but I have yet to get any photo collage software. I wasn’t sure about the format but it seemed like an easy way to view a large group of photos. Less overwhelming than small groups or individuals. I’m not sure what Picasa is?
Glad you had a chance to shop in the “big” city on a cool day. I don’t miss those “teen” temps at all! You must be gearing up for summer. Is it crazy with tourists out your way yet? RE: The sandals. I got the Bandolino wedges at TJMaxx but I saw them at Marshall’s shoe superstore too. (I snapped them up at the Maxx thinking I got the only pair only to see dozens of them at Marshall’s some weeks later.) Thanks for the sweater love. I’d been looking everywhere for an open knit sweater like yours and decided just to make my own. So funny that you mentioned the sandals. Edgy is exactly what I was going for when I got those sandals--I ended up returning the metallic Everybody’s. They just weren’t exactly what I wanted. I love RATE so I’m glad I scored a couple of these. It’s definitely part of my rubric too.
@Makrame: Thank you! Yes, you have a good eye. I duplicated! It’s my most comfortable jacket. I want it in every color. It’s a good thing it is sold out. The top in 8 is a recent purchase (caslon, I think.) I liked the colors and thought it would play well in my closet. I have a hard time styling those khaki shorts.
@Suz: Thanks, Suz! Glad that these resonate with you. I live in casual so it can get a little boring to me. I really love the easy style of the “dress” in 11. I find that drawstring style easy to wear. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much luck re-mixing it because of the length (too many horizontals come into play) but it’s great on it’s own.
